Are studs even necessary? I meen im not even close to putting down the power to where it will make a difference. Plus when i turbo ill be doing it big, ie. cam heads ect. , so i can just do them then. Also i know our head bolts are tty but i thought they could be reused a couple times. Felpro is not ok replacement? I get a discount at dealership but i get a much better one at my work. You're gonna need new gaskets and bolts.
Could be a good time to install head studs. I'd run stock GM gaskets.
The xp is not superior to the s1x. You would not notice a difference between the two that's how close they are in specs. The s1x is cheaper than the xp...

The XP will make slightly more hp
Really? Dark im interested in hearing your opinion on this. Any proof. Track times/dyno ect? Anything i should note between the two? havnt ordered the cam springs retainers yet.I've always made more power on a NIC if all you want to do is drop a cam in.
Ide like to Nick but i keep hearing horror storys. And ive seen horror pics. The XP has literally .5* more overlap.
Double roller and 140s would be mint.
stock springs NIC cam is going to make more power than the higher lift you would see on an XP floating valves.... Little smaller pulley and more clearing from the overlap helps cool down the combustion chamber letting you run a bit more boost (air flow) but costs you a bit of power by losing the air through overlap.
If you are going to run an XP you gain a bit in the powerband area revving it a bit higher. And it doesnt sound as cool. XP requires 130 springs.
I ran 12.0 in a 3200lb fiero with nothing more than a NIC and valvesprings with drag radials on a 3.0 pulley, factory stock tune/throttle body but I threw in some 42# injectors I had laying around (cant remember if i needed them).
