New rims for my GXP

Looking to get new rims and tires put on my 08 GXP. I think I found the right rims but I'd love suggestions for tires. Looking to run 255 on all 4.

Its 0.65 of a overall diameter difference, do you really think that matters??????????????????????????????????

Its a butt load cheaper to buy all 245/45/18's than it is to find all 255/40/18's, and the options for a 245/45 are way way better than the 255/40.

You do realize 255 is width not diameter...yes 245'as are cheaper however it all depends on where you go for tires

The whole point was replacing wheels and tires for something smaller than factory seems point less as far as wheels and tires go IMO these nose heavy cars need as much tire as they can get. I'm not trying to go back and forth with somebody on another thread so I'll just end with what I already said. And I'm sure if price was that much of a issue he wouldn't be buying a whole new set of wheels...

Thanks for all the recommendations. I think I'll stick with 255/45/18. Are there any particular brand of performance tires that you would recommend though? I just recently bought my GXP and until now I've only bought tires so that I could get from point a to point b. So with that being said I'm kind of in the dark as to which brands and which style of tread would be best. It's my day to day driver but I'm also dumping a good amount of things under the hood in the near future so I would love for the car to stick to pavement. As for price I'd like to stick below $250 a tire if at all possible. Thanks guys

Do some tire shopping and you'll come to find that you wont find any decent tire for under $250 in that tire size.

I am telling you, you don't need 255's on the car, the different from a 255 to a 245 is so small it does not matter, who gives a crap about tire width, its a FWD sedan, its not going to handle like a RWD sports car.

A 245/45 tire will be loads better and the tire selection is way bigger.

I have Michelin Pilots on my 18s, 255/45/18 - set of 4, cheapest price is $1,116.00 before shipping for just tires, just to put it into perspective.

Rims are ordered and should be here by the end of next week. Also, my hids, tint, and led tails should be done by that time too. Pics to come

My opinion: 255/45's WILL be noticeably wider and bigger than 245/45's, BUT I would have done 245's just because of cost.
Also, a shorter tire is not a bad thing and ain't gonna do crap to lower performance or anything.
Im running 235/45/18, which are shorter than stock and I love the look and performance. Gives it a sidewall in between normal 18" & 19" setups
