My opinion: 255/45's WILL be noticeably wider and bigger than 245/45's, BUT I would have done 245's just because of cost.
Also, a shorter tire is not a bad thing and ain't gonna do crap to lower performance or anything.
Im running 235/45/18, which are shorter than stock and I love the look and performance. Gives it a sidewall in between normal 18" & 19" setups

Just so you know the 2×× number is width of the tire the next number is sidewall of tire the next number is of course overall diameter

Are you really trying to tell me that? Lol. I know what I'm talking about. It's not just width. It affects overal diameter too. A 235/45 is shorter than a 245/45 same as a 245/45 is shorter than a 255/45. Shorter and narrowed actually. I know it's the width but it doesnt remain constant height with the same profile... My 235/45/18 are half an inch shorter than 245/45/18.
