New MazdaSpeed3

Re: Gins 04 Comp G

At first I wasn't sure about the green. Now I think it give the car a sinister look.

Ever think that the calipers should match?

Re: Gins 04 Comp G

pretty sure he was thinking of that after he did the engine bay. That would look good.
He will have to add more HPs in sig if he does it.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G

yea they will be painted soon, just not to sure how i wana go about it. With the engine paint i used or order some caliper paint.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G

Either paint will work. Just needs to be high temp so it can handle the heat from the calipers.

and cleared with high temp clear so it will last.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G

Reg paint lasts just fine on calipers. I've used .99 spray paint on calipers before and it held up great. It's all in the prep.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G

Regular paint is able to withstand up to 400*, iirc. I know I used a basic Silver Met base, Anodized Red topcoat, and basic Clear and its lasted for over 2 years, just a little faded now. Looks more orange in most spots than it does red.

I plan to repaint them this spring when I finally install my F-body upgrade, but will likely go with a different color.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G

Instead of painting them. How about a neon green light behind. Nothing glaring, just a little subtle.
You ****ed up my surprise :P ima paint them gloss black or get spos and put a neon green light behind them and one in the rear of engine aswell

Re: Gins 04 Comp G

if you were gonna paint, id say gloss black em, but then do the exterior 'ring' in the green, negativeone (aaron) did his like that, only red.

I am doing gloss black but the ring i think with green is gonna be a little to much. Im planning on calipers and then doing the light behind like bill said with green inlays and then ima do the gtp black with green borders and the arrow the same

probly put comg or something in black lettering on the calipers aswell.I think that will make them a little more subtle and add at the same time, if that makes sense

Re: Gins 04 Comp G

problem with the light is its only useful at car shows and pics.. cant go around driving with green lights up front.
