I cant believe the tranny is shot after 100k. I got the car at 89k and all maint was up to order and was owned by a doctor and from the looks of it very well taken care of. Ive been pretty much stock the last 11k miles besides headers and 3.6 pulley and i havent beat the **** out of it really compared to what ive seen other people do to these cars with more mods.

Started last week. Car was cold and would not move for ****, just rev to the moon. Figured it must be cus its cold. Well yesterday it was hot and i got stuck infront of traffic going 5 mph because it would just slip in first. I check my fluid and it was a little low about half a quart and then went for a drive and it seemed ok but it was also alot hotter then. So today i let it warm up and its doing it way more frequent and fluid is fine. Ima go to a trans shop tomarrow and have it checked out but im sure 1st clutch packs are gone.

Not sure of your plans, but car-part amazingly has a trans FR9 (pretty sure that's comp g) in Springfield.

There is one in my town surprisingly for 850 low miles but a little steep, if i can there is a complete 6 speed swap ready to bolt in i found for 3 grand but i could probly talk him down.

Sounds like your going to want to pick up a reliable DD. All I'm cheers for the 5 speed swap but let's face it parts are hard to find and if something goes wrong.. It's quite a bit of downtime. Either way keep us updated.

Double the money on what? And wtf would it go to the jy? Everything is getting fabbed befor it goes in the car. And yea i have plans for another beater. I already have all the parts except for the clutch, im leaning toward a built one even though i can use a stock and get for really cheap

The build is not going to go down for awhile. I still have some stuff to collect and alot of prefab to do. Im also most likely moving but thats a good thing cus that meens alot more money in my pocket. And my sister is moving down the street from where i am with a nice 2 car garage which is where the build will be going down. Im also not to keen on jumping into this without a backup trans so like said its gonna be awhile.
