• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Something I just realized. Will my stock struts and shocks be able to handle lowering springs?

Yeah... for how long? Not very long. The life expectancy of a stock strut is dropped tremendously. That is why most advise getting new struts, preferably GR-2 or others along those lines.

Would be amazing if it happened. Pontiac was one one of GM's best. Why cut it and not Saturn!?

Saturn was axed a few years ago. Axing Pontiac was a smart move to avoid sinking the entire company. In the automotive world you trim the fat of the least sold cars worldwide. Pontiac, Saturn, and Oldsmobile were in that category.

Some people were surprised Buick wasn't killed, but it has a huge market overseas and is the #1 seller in China.

Did not know that. Still, killing Pontiac I believe was a mistake. If anything to keep an American Icon alive.

GM (and other companies) could have saved alot of money if they hadn't made multiple brand imitations of the same car over the years.

That's was saves them money though all those interchangeable parts are cheaper to make than different parts for different cars.

*Shrug* Still adamantly believe it was a mistake shutting down Pontiac. :th_lipssealed1: <- me being stubborn.

*ON a different note*

Found somewhere that Comp G struts can handle lowering springs splendidly well. Anyone have a GM part number or place I can find them?

If you cam it when you do your headers you could probably run a 3.4. A 3.5 is a little small with just headers, probably should run a 3.6

Urrrgh, ignorance at it's best................

You can certainly run a 3.5 with headers..hell, I've seen people run 3.4 with no knock without headers. It's all about the tune and the individual car.........

*dismounts the soap box*

Welcome to the community. My best advice would be to branch out and look at other forums like gpona.com, and clubgp.com when doing research about new mods. Don't log into that "safely modding" thread and treat it as the bible of modding, it's far from it.
