• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Re: My 2005 Impala LS

Least you guys are honest though lol.

Re: My 2005 Impala LS

Job well done at least. Will look good with a couple other visual mods. Maybe dip the spoiler. :th_scratchhead:

Re: My 2005 Impala LS

Re: My 2005 Impala LS

Regular NEW head bolts will do. (ARP head studs are better :) )

Need to find 3 for the bottom idle pulley bracket.

Upper intake bolts are larger on the SC engine than NA. At least for 04+

Lower intake bolts swap over.
Something like 13-14ft lbs for torque. That's ALL you need. Don't wrench down on them.

Exhaust swaps over.

Get new bolts for the rockers if you plan on taking them off of the heads.

Torque angle gauge for rocker bolts and head bolts if you use OEM.
11ft lbs + 90 degrees rockers

Always keep a stash of miscellaneous nuts and bolts for whatever you come across.

Put spark plugs in heads before you put them on the block.

Pull out the battery.

Once heads and valve covers are on put on the alternator and bracket with new coolant elbows and accessory belt before you put on the blower. That was a PITA.

All I can think of off of the top of my head.

Re: My 2005 Impala LS

If it's your first time having the thing that far apart, I'd suggest little baggies and a sharpie to hold the bolts and label the bags.

That way you know for sure where they came from.

Re: My 2005 Impala LS

Thank you for the list! if you you have any more tips ill take as many as I can get.
and ya my brother is doing the majority of the swap and he always uses baggies and labels them, Dont want to finish the swap and have 2-3 bolts "leftover" lol

Re: My 2005 Impala LS

Some updates and pictures
Took plasti dip off car, took FOREVER cause we didnt put enough plastidip on.. love how the camera doesnt show allll the stone chips lol

One tail light look way darker but half the car is in the shade.

I also debadged the side of the car so no more impala emblems on the sides.

Oh and went to get oil and coolant for the top swap and the cheapest stuff on sale was royal purple!! $43.00
