monte carlo ss?

DaytonaGTP

Its not that small is it?
tax time is near and i will be getting quite alot back. i was planning on putting about 1000 to 1500 into my prix but a friend of mine has a relative that has a near clean 87 monte ss and they want about the same for it. SO! what would you do? the monte has the original 305 with an auto tranny in primer gray. all it need are paint, exhaust, and prolly a tune up...ect. i think i should get it.

me too. i really like that body style. especially if its got the stock 305 in it. keep it original and rock that baby out. i say get it.

You dont many of those around in good condition, id say get the SS... u can always mod the GP later... do a 350 swap in SS when ya can. :D

monte carlo ss
then you get that stuff for it and sell it for more :th_thumb-up:
then you get more money for your prix lol

I would buy the SS. Especially if it is that cheap. That body style is killer. My neighbor has one. Not sure what he has under the hood but it is my wake up call almost every morning:D

305 with new top end = 330 crank HP, 350 with top end kit is 420, 383 is 500 horse.

So... get the SS, paint it, restore it. Then build a monster out of it and enjoy your GTP as a nice faster than most DD.

awesome im gettin it. but if im goin to mod it, it wont be worth anything. if i leave the original block in and mod that then it would be worth more but a 350 in there would drop the resale value. trust me alot of small block guys in my town and they suggest stock if sellin it and 400 small block if moddin it. so... im gettin a 400 sbc

I saw one on pinks modded to the hill pushing 1000hp on a 2 stage n2o system

Id love to get one most of the ones around here are going for way to much but ive always loved the body style

yeah thats whats great about my area. lots of old cars for cheap. theres also a 68 chevelle 327 for 5k and a 71 challenger for 6k near my house and they are clean. but the ss is just too cool.

the car isnt worth anything to begin with. why not mod it? thats the only way the car is going to be cool.

either one of those cars >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 80's monte SS.

Keep in mind that GM cars back then had crap fit & finish. New they were junk and stock they were lucky to get below mid 15s in the 1/4 mile. I like that style, but keep in mind reliability and body integrity were worse than our GPs.

ESPECIALLY G bodies... Make sure the underbody is absolutely mint else you're buying soon to be junk.
