Lil Blacky Thread,THE END OF LIL BLACKY SAD DAY...

Re: Lil Blacky Thread, READY FOR PULLEY DROP?

Love the car. LOVE the rims. Looks awesome. Very jealous. By the way you seem to have way too much money to spend, this coming from a broke teenager so then again I guess any money is a lot of money to me lol

Heh thanks for the compliment. You will get there bud just work hard and be persistent in life Im a self employed business owner and I started from the bottom to get to where im at today. This is my fourth GTP and I like it cause they are cheap and so im allowed to pour some dough into her and not feel so bad about it!

Re: Lil Blacky Thread, READY FOR PULLEY DROP?

Thanks for that, is your estimation with the pulley? And do you think 3.5 is the way to go?

Yes. That estimate is with the 3.5, since these cars make 200whp~ from the factory.

A 3.5 is just fine. Just a shade more on the safe side. If you have a scan gauge, and see no to minimal KR with the 3.5, feel free to drop to a 3.4 if you want. But you will honestly notice zero gains from that.

Re: Lil Blacky Thread, READY FOR PULLEY DROP?

Cool beans 3.5 it is! That should be headed my way soon, im assuming the install is easy enough?

Re: Lil Blacky Thread, READY FOR PULLEY DROP?

Finally got around to some stuff! Did a bumper to bumper detail what a difference! Added my new/used roof rails, aeroforce, boost gauge and HUD pod, cleaned up some wires and tucked them and now my dash is looking pretty clean. I must say im finally startin to like this ride!

Before....

After!

New rails

HUD Pod and gauges

And just some updated pics!

Kinda wanted to give ya a walk around this is a few months after the drop im thinkin the springs have settled about as much as they ever will.

Re: Lil Blacky Thread, Roof rails, HUD pod, Detail!

Looks good man, I love it. Bonneville gxp rims are so sweet too. Id tuck the plug wires under the snout tho for a cleaner look

Lil Blacky Thread, Roof rails, HUD pod, Detail!

Thanks man it's been a slow work in progress but I can honestly say it was worth it! From junk yard auction to now this ol 16 year of car is startin to turn some heads. I get guys askin questions all the time in parking lots. Wish I had more GPF buddies up here!

I'd tuck the wires but I'm way too lazy plus I kinda like em ads a lil color to the bay.

Re: Lil Blacky Thread, Roof rails, HUD pod, Detail!

That's the way a Grand Prix is supposed to look. Slick ride.

Re: Lil Blacky Thread, Roof rails, HUD pod, Detail!

LED tails, and big brakes are in the somewhat near future, maybe even retros. But id rather buy em off someone who has a set... hint hint! Long term full SD package but that will be tough as i will probably want to do the whole car then paint wise so it will be a big investment.

Re: Lil Blacky Thread, Roof rails, HUD pod, Detail!

dont you hate the base rotor flash rust? i have the same as you cause they arent painted yet.. bothers the crap out of me

Lil Blacky Thread, Roof rails, HUD pod, Detail!

Yeah it drives me nuts! The sad thing was I ended up replacing both front calipers so after the brake job was all said and done could have had GXPs!

Re: Lil Blacky Thread, Roof rails, HUD pod, Detail!

Man that's a sharp looking car. I love it

Re: Lil Blacky Thread, Roof rails, HUD pod, Detail!

So I just wanted to see what shift kit you guys would recommend for this setup, I thought about it and I think I should do that and a fresh fluid and filter change before dropping pulley. I was thinking Intense, I just want something to keep up with my mods and continue my goal of having a lightly modded DD with some pep!

Also how difficult would it be to do this job myself? or how much should I expect to pay a shop to do this? Im always down to learn new stuff, but when is comes to transmissions or internal parts in general im a little sketchy.

Re: Lil Blacky Thread, WHAT SHIFT KIT SHOULD I GO WITH?

Do it yourself there's a write up around here somewhere ill link later

Intense aka thrasher is somewhat aggressive so you may or may not want that.

Or just stick w/ a trans go

Re: Lil Blacky Thread, WHAT SHIFT KIT SHOULD I GO WITH?

Thanks Red! I'm not looking for anything to harsh I love how smooth my car shifts ever since my OK tune and I want to keep that. So Trans go is the way to go!?

Re: Lil Blacky Thread, WHAT SHIFT KIT SHOULD I GO WITH?

I must say that is one awesome write up. Looks really involved, ill have to look into all my options. I'm not gonna lie it looks scary!
