Re: J57ltr's 05' GTP, Injectors up, pulley down and some racing.
Apparently Photobucket is acting up tonight.
Never got around to logging fuel pump current, but I've been pretty busy. I did decide to install some 60# injectors and drop to a 3.4" pulley.
Ain't got time for waiting for a puller to be rented shipping and all so I made my own with an old 3 jaw puller and some material I had around the shop.
Man I miss the days of keyed pulleys.
But if it works, it works.
The pulley hub went on much easier with nothing more than a Harbor Freight power steering pulley removed/installed.
Made sure everything was still dialed in and didn't have any issues. All I did was start with my stock IFR table and then change it by the difference between the stock 33's and the new 60's then added 34%. The car started and ran very well no issues. I ran around and did a few pulls and fueling was good. I did have to add some fuel past the areas in the MAF that I had never been to before. I'm now hitting 11,300Hz and maxing the MAP at 200 kPa. So I'm hitting a little over 14 psi.
So a few weeks ago I tried to get a group of friends together to run at our local 1/8 mile track. I Was only able to get my friend with a 2015 Charger R/T with a K&N intake and a Flowmaster cat back exhaust system on it. Our first run he redlighted and I took off and forgot everything I knew about drag racing for time and just blew the tires off and never let out until I crossed the finish line. Ran a blistering 10.6. After that I settled down, but got flagged at the end of my second run and was told I was leaking brake fluid, so back through Tech and turns out it wasn't me. I got back in line and went up against a Subaru WRX, it was a little older model had the scoop and was a turbo car. I actually beat him off the line and to about half track then he walked right past me. My wife started texting saying my buddies son was getting fussy so we were going to leave but needed one last run. So for the last run of the night I lined up against my friend and I don't know what happened but I think he fell asleep and I was doing pretty well. The car pulled hard and I ran my best time of the night a 9.55@77mph which was quicker and faster than his best run. This was both of our first times at the track, my first time ever with a FWD car and his first time ever. I didn't adjust tire pressure, had about a half tank of fuel and everything that's normally in my car, tools and all.
My slips (not in order)
1,4,2,3
(Johns slips in order)
So the next week I leave to go out of town and coming back from the airport this happens.
This is what happens when you don't pay attention and screw up:
