• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

insight appreciated!

so I drive to work fine no issues, realize I need to fill up so after work I stop at bp and do just that...but...when I start the car and put it in drive the car does nothing but rev ...I go through the gears and all is good with them but drive is M.I.A. so I had to drive home in 2nd.

the car is an 01 gtp by the way.

pop the hood and check the shiftier linkage on the d/s of the trans. theres plastic parts that break.

have some one shift the car, while you watch the linkage move.

if thats not it, you dont want to hear the forward band snapping story, im sure.

Didn't think about checking that,I will look into that first and keep you updated.

Trying to avoid the extreme if possible so I just hope it is a plastic piece.

Well looks like it's time to do an overhaul cause the linkage is fine...talk about shyty timing with my girls car actn up a 1yr old (which make's money limited) my prix going into a reversible coma and the shops here actn like they struck gold anytime they here trans won't move into gear,I'm starting to wonder if there really is a light at the end of that long dark tunnel.

So I did a little research on upgrades and so far I've kinda decided to go wit the 300m input shaft all though I really ain't trying to put 10 million horses under the hood ,and that's about it so far.

Forgot to mention when it comes to rebuilding these things I am a 100% newb, putting them in no prob but just never took the time to actually explore the internals.

If your car wouldn't move in D but did kinda slip/move in 2, your forward band broke.

Yup!,pretty much what it boils down to which is why I am going to beef it up at this point.....seems to only makes sense considering it says on TEP that it will need a rebuild cause of where the band is placed.

The placement of the band is ...yeah.

You put the pinion in, the then diff and the next thing from the actual inside of the case is the band.

You make it sound so easy,if I wasn't a newb to the inside of the trans I would be all for doing it myself..but..unfortunately i am,which is why I'm gonna have to take it to a shop.

If you have any upgrade advice I could surely use it cause I really don't wanna go overboard with the beef up,and like I said I'm not trying to put 10million horses under the hood...I just want a strong 3.4 or 3.2 setup maybe a 2.9 but no lower.
