Been buying/making/fabricating intakes for probably longer than you've driven a car son. I guarantee if you put an aeroforce on a factory intake setup it has less knock than an open cone. I'll supply video evidence if you need it! You're inlet temps for an open cone roughly 144 degrees. Close it off and cut it in half! 144 degree intake air temps, nah I'll pass on that. Not to mention if an open cone filter setup was so great makes you wonder why they didn't put it on for a factory setup, let me help you it creates more knock which in turn takes away reliablity of your vehicle.
Of course this is coming from the same guy that gives me **** everytime I post here and we already know you have attitude/personality problems. Why I don't post here often so I don't have to hear your stupid mouth.
Flow > Ambient temps...especially on modded setups.
Yup.
Actually your engine needs a supercharger:th_laugh-lol3:Our engines need MORE air, not necessarily cold air.
So cold air would reduce knocking but yield less performance?

I do get what you're saying about the blown cars however wouldn't it be a risky thing to do creating more knock on these cars? My gtp only has 82000 miles on it, it's a red coupe. Don't get me wrong I really want to be able to hear the intake and supercharger it's very quiet with stock air box.what? no. colder air will always provide a 'better' intake charge, however, there are diminshing gains with it. the difference between 100 and 120 degrees is marginal, but the difference between 80 and 100 degrees is different. kinda getting it?
the blower cars dont need colder air, they need more air. n/a is a different story.

I don't know why aftermarket companies haven't made a kit to fit the front grill inserts with a ram. Have it funnel up in back of the headlight where you could have an open cone sitting there. Kinda like the gto inserts but have black funneling tubes to direct air right to the filter. Although it would still be getting hot air from the engine bay it would be getting more air, plus cooler air.
No, I'm not saying have the open cone in line with the ram, I'm saying just have those rams be ducted to rush cold air to an opening right under where the open cone sits. Not being in the fenderwell but just where the stock air box is.If I'm understanding you right, you're asking why they haven't made fenderwell intakes in mass? The way you're describing it would have a lot of bends... bends reduce airflow. That's why we say open cone... no bends, not slowing down the air at all. FWI do slow down air.
Not really, a kit like I've described would be able to be permanent. Therefore eliminating the need to do that at all, while making it street legal.take out drivers side headlight... mission accomplished
