The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
So i got my throttle body off and cleaned it out but my head gasket is done for, how can i remove it without really scratching the metal, i tried a screwdriver but it left deppish scratches and thats not good.
if you have an air tool with a grinder or wire brush attachment you can you that. my dad did that to get a stuck gasket off my downpipe when i installed my catback. you must be very careful though.
you can get autoparts cleaner that you can just let it soak in it and brush it off with a wire brush. my dad has some its literally called autoparts cleaner.
heres the cheap skate way to make it shine, go inside grab one of them sponges with the scotch brite pad kinda scrubby side, dry, and scrub the crap out of the gasket mating surfaces.
or go get a scotch brite pad. green or red would work well for this.
i would just scrape it off with a razor tho. and be done with it.
They do most of the time, but when you're working on a small piece like the TB, it's easy to slip and gouge your hand really bad. And yes, it hurt like all hell.
so far im really frusterated with this since ive put 3 hours into this and theirs still somehwat alot of gasket left and i am nicking it constantly helllp
