The ultimate hid thread might be outdated. Perhaps something better has been released since. Whats the go to kit for brighter lights. Around how much labor and cost goes into a project like this?
 




Classy is definitely your best bet if you don't have the time to make your own retrofit's. The set he made me about two years ago is still working flawlessly.

In terms of everything else (bulbs, ballasts, etc.) the Morimoto kits are worth the money. I ran some cheap bulbs and such for almost a year until the one ballast started to go, and after getting the Morimoto's I'm impressed with the build quality. They seem a tad brighter and have a sharper cutoff, probably due to the more precise bulb alignment.
 
What they all said. Morimito parts from TRS are great quality at a good price. And Classy does great work too. Do it! You won't regret it.
 
So the kits are plug and play? Come with everything needed for around 150? This may be the first modification i make to my car.
 
If you are using HIDs in stock headlights, you'll need the 9006 kit. Some people might get really pissed at you if you use HIDs in stock headlights because they will produce a considerable amount glare which is one of the main reasons why people do retrofits. The other reason is because you'll see better with retrofits and have a clean cut off that won't blind oncoming drivers.

I have classy's retrofits and they are great.

Oops, you only need the 9006 kit if you have a 04-08 GP. If you have the 97-03 generation, you'll need the 9007 kit.

The glare comes from the stock headlights. You won't have glare if you have retrofitted headlights. I'm selling the retros for $280 shipped. I'll post pics up tomorrow cause I'm going to bed.

$280 is a steel. Save all that labour and stress trying to align things. Just have to buy a harness and ballasts' and you are rockin' the good light. LOL
 


Projectors would be the way to go.

For an upgrade to the halogen lighting:

97-03 Phillips Xtreme Vision would be the way to go

04-08 HIR's would be the way to go

is there an hir bulb that casts a white light you can recommend? I know it wont be as bright as an hid but i dont really care, im just bored of my yellow headlights.
