HID recommendations

Late to the game here, my apologies... But here's my $.02

Hid's from the Retrofit Source are second to none, they produce a quality product and back it up (warranty). I have an HID kit from them I placed into NEW stock housings. Yes it can be done, two things are relevant, one is the filament on the HID lamp is positioned differently into the housing and if you measure the stock placement and subsequently mimic that with the HID's, the light thrown from the housing will be just the same, but more intense. Now, we all know the stock housings sux, so that is why many opt for the projectors as the projectors will put more light on the road where you need it.

Anyways, there was a write up on fixing the placement of the hid lamps correctly into the housing with stock headlights, search... If you can't find it let me know, I think I have some screen captures of it. And even then, I have my stock lights aimed a little lower than usual and I never get flashed... But they are bright, lol :D

that said... $280 is a steal, something I may consider for my GTP ; )
I dont disagree with you but if theres a 50$ option that is comparable i may go with that. Whats your opinion on the difference between the cheap vs more expensive hids mentioned here

just had my second ddm tuning bulb die, less than a year old. had a new set of tyc head lamps waiting for an pnp led bulb to show up, installed those thursday. similar light output as the pnp hids in factory housings. unsure if related but i had new tyc housings last year when I installed the hids, housings were severely faded and starting to yellow. hids were 55w.

Dumb question but was anything covered by warranty ddm wise?

Do some searches on DDM warranty problems.
If TRS ballasts poop.....you cut the cord and email the pic.....they send a new one......too easy.
Hell get a DDM set for fifty....I did...they made it a year....then bugged out

Ran ddm in my Impala for 6 years, never an issue and put 100k on the car before I sold it 215k, btw where are you guys seeing 150$ for full retrofit from TRS. Cheapest I see is 270$! 99GTP!

$150 is on the cheap side. They often have projectors in their clearance section for well under $100. If you buy brand new, they are $110-140+. Then you need bulbs, which are another $40+. Most people doing retrofits already have PNP kits installed, so no need to buy ballasts and wiring harness. If you need these components, you are now in the $270 range that you noted.

I believe you get what you pay for... The $60-$80 units are ok, they work, can't say they don't. I Have the Retrofit Source units and like I said are second to none, 4 years now and not a hitch! So they already paid for themselves as I feel even if they burnt up tomorrow, I got my $ out of em. I had cheap units on other cars before and never really lasted like the Retrofit Source.

If anyone can post a link for the cheaper ddm or similar priced hid's for an 07 gp id appreciate it.
Is there a specific harness im looking for?

I know nothing of the 04+ cars I have no idea if they are the same or not.

Install depends if your me or forrest gump, I did my car in 30minutes, womens g6 in 40min, brothers camaro 1hr. Time includes shutting the hood closed and going back inside.

And we already went through this, thanks though.

Um, that was my question in the post. Regardless, I'm interested in a better lighting package that will not blind oncoming drivers.
