Head light bounce

okay I got a 98 GP and i replaced my stock fogged headlights with a new set of aftermarket ones and even before i replaced them they bounce but now more noticable is their a way to fix this besides like double sided tape?
 


Check local Junk Yards for some Grand Prix with the fog lights, go for the mounts, itll help when you can mount them properly.

Just take the new ones with you and compare to see if they will fit on the stock mounts :th_thumbsup-wink:
 


I had the same problem when i bought the halos and nothing worked mounting wise i even used the stock brackets so you might just have to buy weather stripping and hide it the best you can. I know lots of GP owners have this problem with aftermarket headlights. I bought a roll at walmart for a $1 and 6 months later its still holding up and you cant tell its there
 
Projectors? If so, I have another question. Are your beams shooting perfectly flat? If not, they're aimed wrong as well, which is likely with those headlights. It is repairable though.
I would start by taking a zip tie to each side to pull the back side of the headlight into the car slightly more, if you have the spyder auto ones they probably stick out a tad. This will pull the aim in a little, and possibly a little higher, for the rest, I'd recommend putting foam weather stripping underneath the headlights. Maybe different on another car, but my car being black, you can't even see it.

If they aren't the spyder autos, the zip ties may not be necessary, but the weather stripping is still the best way to go to completely eliminate the bounce.

i had this issue with my halos... if they packed ur lights in the really squishy foam, take some of that and put it under the bumper skin where the head light sits. this helped alone by itself. but then i took my lights out and wrapped electrical tape all around the plastic clips that hold the light to the bracket... pop them all way out. mine popped out easy... wrap that piece 2 or 3 times in tape, put the piece back in then wrap the the plastic piece and where it clips into the bracket with as much tape as u want. mine turned out good and u cant really see the tape when lights are installed. i have no bounce at all even when i hit bad bumps in the road.
 
i also used foam rubber double sided tape to make them fit better... it helped with bounce alot... i got it at lowes. they have a bunch u just gotta get the stuff that feels soft. ive had to replace foam twice in a year though.
