I got it had to get a new 24mm and some vice grips, got it to go with my jack handle and a strap.
I put the cam in and the lifters I need to read the book or find all the specs for torque, what should I put lock tight on everything just to be safe or no?

Alight sweet I'm going into work now I get off at 12 I will be working on the motor for the rest the time after that

so I painted a few things more and I got the cam and lifters in and I gotta wait for my chain to come in the mail still =) I can't wait

I don't know I haven't gotten to it yet, I think its a bent push rod or something but im going to part it out or sell it to someone who needs a core

You probably would have seen a bent push rod when you pulled it out, but roll them across a 100% flat surface (glass) and you will see a bend if there is one.

Oh well the old motor is still in the car together, im building the cars original motor it had half the mileage of the gtx motor

Yeah I didn't want to cam that motor to high of miles lol, safer to build this one

Oh I get it, I dunno why I thought you had both of them torn down. You gonna clean any of that sludge and such off while you have all the lifters and such out?

Its burnt on or something im thinking of spraying it down and when I have it lifted up ill drop the oil pan, but its just on a pallet for now I can't lift it right now

Yea, having the cam out completely will help a lot, on my motor I still had the cam in, but I took the lifters out. I had the oil pan off, scrubbed at it pretty good, then poured some cheap oil over everything like 3 or 4 times to make sure any debris was washing down.

I need to make a stand at work today (home depot lumber guy) and set the motor on top to pull the oil pan

Ok I picked up some az engine degreaser if I use that I should be fine right as Long as I run oil through?

messed up and got the wrong color still ok with it, going to see if I can send them back if not im fine with the color its always better then no floor mats

Degreaser for what? Also send back the mats and get the right color lord knows beige gets dirty just from staring at it and you might regret now getting black down the road. Plus I don't see one thing beige in the car ^_^

Haha already sent them a email about it =) yeah I want a dark cool, but I got the sludge I want to clean the inside of the motor before it gets put back together would that be fine
