• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Gtx has a turbo!! lol

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

Got it for around the same price as the one you are looking at.

Tossed a correct color bumper cover on it.

And a part or two

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

yeah this is my first big tear down so I want to go slow as possible I'm not trying to rush anything, and I just got the last of my gaskets and posts in the mail yesterday, when i have done it once i will be able to go through a little faster next time lol and I think the guy said it was a 98

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

It's definately a 98 if it's got a 25th emblem on it. See...cause Regals were started 25 years before 98

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

does that make it like the équivalent to a special edition Grand Prix Or 40th anniversary grand prix

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

truth is they are all pretty much the same, (regal to regal) minus the supercharger and the cloth interiors the ls got.

there is the GTX regal that slp put out, seen one of them, nice cars.

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

I've had 2-3 different LS with leather, come to think of it.. I don't believe Regal comes cloth. Century is cloth only. The reality is ... all the options were pretty standard. So on a regal, options would be
Dual auto climate vs Dual manual climate
Sunroof or not
Wheels, Brushed, Chrome and I think you could order steels with caps
GS charged vs LS not charged
Body on the GS was almost always two tone, LS was almost always single. You could order the two or single. Largely though, if you see a two tone, it's GS.
There was a spoiler add on that dealers sold, it was not a option that could be ordered TMK.
Autotinting exterior mirrors were an option. All exteriors are heated, but the autotinting was an option.
I believe you could also order the DIC in the LS, GS came standard with it.
The controls for dic/etc always had a blank button, there was not a feature for it.
Perf/not shifter. Depended on year IIRC. Might have been optionable

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

It has a sunroof and leather seats im guessing they are heated ill make it supercharged with a 3.4 set up, and yeah I saw that when I got the floor mats its called something different I thought

first on the list is spoiler, badges, and maybe find a hood if they make them lol this is to much fun:)

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

Back on topic....

Get done with your build

Screw that regal talk you speak of

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

I got stuck at work a little longer, but yeah is the cam bolts torque 90?

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

Oh ok thank you I have to do a few things for my grandparents then its off to build:)

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

Just curious since I know you scrapped your other GP you have something else to drive meanwhile while the builds going on?

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

yeah I get to drive a 2004 Saturn Ion with 23000 miles on it or a 2001 s10 pickup with 77000 miles on it, so I'm not really carless

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

Who you telling lol it's been a good 2 years since I've really driven mine...guess I need to get motivated again.

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

98 was the 25th year of the Regal. One of the cars I had was a 25th. And..it had the same color/look of that one. Often it was supposed to get the black trim like that one.

Pffft Dan you were slow. I pulled the motor Friday and was waiting on a fuel rail until Sat to have it running. Could have driven it on Friday afternoon.

Where's ScottyDoggs.. he's got a funny story about working fast on cars.

I had to build my motor though and had to swap parts from the pulled motor.
