Front Bumper - 2 styles? Autobody Q

Went to the body shop to get a quote on a cracked bumper, they told me they would need to replace the bumper and gave me a quote of $1k+ so I'm looking else where. I heard the guy mutter something about there being two styles of bumper for my car but the oaf didn't include that in the quote (just stated $400 for a reconditioned bumper cover). How do I figure out which style I have? Where can I get it? Is $1k reasonable for this repair? My car is silver (just like 75% of the Grand Prix GT's on the road) so is $400 for a reconditioned bumper worth it? Or should I try to find someone parting their car and buy theirs? Is this part easy to find?

Thanks, but how do I find out which style it is that I have? What are the differences between the two styles?

Go to a chevy/gm dealership. I swear to effing god i tell everyone. These bumpers are so damn common that we have a warehouse out here with over 1200 surplus GP GT/P bumpers, ready for paint. Less than $35 is what I paid.

Oh that too, the ones I mentioned being GM surplus have the arrowhead slot. If you don't want to put an arrowhead in there, the "ghost" arrowhead looks pretty cool too.

This was the "Ghost" arrowhead bumper on my 97 GT.

i like how people complain about 1k for a painted oem bumper,

sure you could get a aftermarket/remaned for 200$ and it will probobly fit like poo.

if you would drop a bumper off at a shop to get painted it should only be 500$ if it has to be two toned for just the bumper, when you throw in someones labor to take it off and put it back on thats 200$ by book time. so 200 for labor, 400 for a oem cover, and say 350 for prep and painting the cover. it adds up quickly, plus your paying for shops overhead
