fog lamps while high beam?

Does anyone know how to make the fog lamps STAY on when I flip to the highbeam lights? Why do they go out? Is more light not better for safety? What was Pontiac thinking? Maybe they could just put some real headlights in from new?

Anyway, if anyone knows how to do this mod without running a a complete new wire then I would appreciate it. Car is a 2002 GT. Thanks

Because Pontiac thinks that 23 watt fog light bulbs are going to blind people.

What was Pontiac thinking?

That they should comply with DOT regulations. No car is allowed to have its fogs on with the brights. Federal law.

I AM the PO...lol I've had the car since it was new. They used to stay on for just a second after hitting the high's, then it got to where they don't go out at all. I wonder if it is the relay not switching, or if I have a wiring gremlin. I kind of don't want to fix it, though, because I like having my fogs on with my high beams.
