• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

February meet at CapnBreakAlot's

I have an oil pan gasket leak... so I'm out unless Dan or someone else knows how to replace one.

Or more accurately, how to jack the car on some other place that isn't the subframe. All my other spots are rusty. Lol

For those that are worried about not being able to complete all the work they want to do....I am going to be throwing together a meet in Columbus in the next couple of months. Have a 2 car garage and a ton of tools that everyone is welcome to.

And a bunch of performance parts;)

How bad is it leaking?

Clay....can you make up a list of the work that people want to do on their cars? Seems like there is a ton of people that want to do modding and there is only so much that can be done in one day. Prioritized list maybe?

Pulley swaps and regular tune up things don't take much time but the bigger projects are going to take time.

Okay so everyone chime in here if I'm wrong but from what I've heard and seen and can remember, this is what everyone will be doing,

98buicksupercharged: Headers, plugs, tstat, pulley drop?

Ultra440: Injectors, pulley drop

hensleya1: Rockers

Russosaur: re-installing HID's

mrlogic1234: plugs, wires

Me: LIM, headers, rockers, pulley drop, plugs

This is excluding tunes because I think just about everyone wants one. Dyno Brian will also be attending and doing tunes as well.

Just a heads up would be that Brain can tune cars very quickly. So having a couple cars there ready to be tuned would be a big help...or let Brian know to show up later in the day. No sense in having him show up early with nothing to tune.

From previous meets here is how I would address the projects
Fairly easy mods and wont take very long. Also easly be able to tune shortly after.
Ultra440: Injectors, pulley drop
mrlogic1234: plugs, wires
hensleya1: Rockers
More difficult mods that will take some time. Typically while the people are workig on the easier mods have one person working on doing the teardown. Clay I know you said you're going to try and get as much work out of the way as possible.

This one is an afterthought IMO. If garage space is limited this would be the first one to get cut.
Russosaur: re-installing HID's

Clay are we needing to bring specialty tools to this thing. I know Dan and I have most of them between the 2 of us. Also you have a good size air compressor? 2 lines would be preferred that way rockers can be done on more than one car at a time.

98buicksupercharged:Why aren't you doing rockers as well?

All I have here are just basic tools, a jack, jack stands, socket sets, wrenches, etc.. I just ordered my headers and I hop to have everything done before the meet on my car except the rockers and headers installation. So if any on these projects need specialty tools I hope you all have them because I don't. I don't have an air compressor yet either, I'm working on it but not yet..

Air compressor makes doing rockers way easier. Other than that you'll have to rotate the engine to make sure piston is at TDC...if not and we drop a valve it means pulling the head off the car.

Ultra440 you're at the top because it's the easiest thing to do and once done will be ready for tuning...need to have cars ready to tune for Brian.

I'll see what I can do and try to get something by then.. And yeah let's not pull any heads off lol. I have no idea how to do rockers really so I'm going to need some installation help.

If you do the teardown I'll show you how to do the install. Take off the old rockers before we even show up.....and with the valve covers off if you can drop in the rear header you'll end up saving a ton of time for when we get there.

Alright sounds good. I'll try to get what I can done before you all show up. As far as taking the old rockers off do I need to worry about dropping valves there?

really wish I could make this trip......sounds like a great time. Greg I hope you hold something in the spring or early summer so I can make it out.
