• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I got her a couple months back, and had to pay $900 for new brakes, sway bar, tie rods, and the usual new car replacements. This is when I first got her, after a nice wash.

I then found a nice deal for rims being sold on craigslist, and threw them on. This is how she stands, as of now.

I'll update further as I go.

Hit up ebay and get some OEM style replacement headlights, or see if you can polish yours up. It'll bring the overall sheen back to the car, and increase your night time visibility.
Don't substitute having a good assembly for cheap HID kits and crap like that.

Would like to see the rims at a few different angles, but otherwise it's looking good!

anything with projectors in them will be better light output then stock especially if you put HIDs in those projectors. most people on here say you should retro fit projectors into stock headlights but that will cost you more and involves a lot of work

I read the rim thread and now I see them on the car, they look good. So, you traded gaming equipment for those rims? No cash?

Either way it looks great, as for your headlights, I use the 3M restoration kit. I have done 16 sets of headlights and 4 sets of taillights, it's a good kit and I recommend it. There are before and after pics of my headlights and fogs in my build thread page 2.

stock headlights just look so bad even a brand new set, you still look like one of the 89 million grand prixs out there

Thanks, and there are more pics of the rims on this thread: http://www.grandprixforums.net/universal-69754.html Just didn't want to picture whore :p

Also, on your suggestion. Is there any headlights that wont completely diminish my visibility, but still have a look that differs from the OEM style?

Don't listen to the headlight BS most other members on here give you. The majority of them think it's okay to plug HID kits in with 8000k bulbs and blind everyone on the road, even though their other ricer friends told them "it looks good."

If you want to change the look, get OEM style black-housed lights, it will reduce visibility over stock, but increase visibility compared to foggy stock. I've been there and done that and can attest to it.
The other option is to buy an awful pair of projector headlights from ebay, which cost too much for the trouble they're worth.

Final option is to have a set of lights retro-fitted. This is the best option, but also the most time consuming. If you do it yourself, you won't spend anymore than ebay projectors cost, if you pay someone to do it, it WILL cost you more.
Here's an example of the results: http://www.grandprixforums.net/seangtps-generic-gp-retrofitted-angel-eyes-pg-5-a-45455.html There are pictures scattered throughout the thread, and on the last page you'll see an output picture.

Order of visibility from best to worst:
Retrofitted Projectors
Ebay Projectors
PnP HID kit
Stock

Order of glare to oncoming drivers from least glare to most glare when aimed correctly:
Stock
Retrofitted Projectors
Ebay Projectors (The cutoff line isn't as sharp, so it would glare SLIGHTLY more)
PnP HID Kit

If you want help or more info, there are plenty of knowledgeable people here, and over at HIDPlanet.com that can assist you.

Oh yeah I ****ing hate driving down the road and the asshat in the other lane looks like he has double brights on....

Sean you must really hate HIDs. I've had mine for a couple of years and have never had anyone flash me or tell me they're to bright. Its about how you aim them, I turned mine down some from regular bulbs.

a lifted truck will blind you no matter how it's headlights are aimed....

I agree with sandman, if you aim them right you could minimize the glare for other drivers

$900 for sway bar brakes and suspension? You should have come here first and you could have saved yourself some money and done it yourself.

I have Turtle Wax's Headlight Lens Restoration kit, but I'm not sure if it's worth wasting on these headlights when I dislike the look of them even when clean. Retrofitting projectors seems very time consuming, but I wouldn't mind depending on if they can be adjusted to a different color than Amber. (I'll look around a bit, maybe it has been done.) To answer TexasTanker's question, Yes I traded my Xbox 360 Console, for those rims + there tires, and 2 brand new Raptor tires. I rarely game anymore, so I thought it was a reasonable trade. Lastly, dsmuts. The price was a bit outrageous, but when your driving to work, and realize you can't stop. You don't hesitate paying that much, to avoid that situation again. :(

When that happens to me I figure out whats wrong and get the parts and fix it in time for work the next day. But I'm super mechanic lol

i have HIDs in the fogs and im gonna put HIDs in my projectors i dont care if i blind everyone on the road all that matters is i can see :) lol but really every truck and modern car with projectors is gonna sit high enough to blind you so **** it get the brightest bulb you can just ditch the stock housings
