Not really lol. Just swapping engines on my Husqvarna riding lawn mower. The 20hp Kohler took a crap with about 100 hours on it so I bought a new Briggs Intek single piston to replace the junk Kohler. I didn't have a bunch of time yesterday to work on it (about 45 minutes). So here are a few pics or the work started.













Obviously there is more that needs done before I can remove it from the frame, but hopefully it will be done in the next couple of weeks.
 


What took a crap on it? Also, not sure if the Briggs engine you bought is the same design as mine, but watch for head gasket failures...think they make ARP head studs for the Briggs? LOL
 
Kohler has about a 4 inch crack on the block after a little over 100 hours on it. Come to find out that type of Kohler had issues that Kohler knew about. Since I am the second owner, I am on my own with replacing it. The briggs I bought in an Intek single piston 21hp engine. I wanted to go with a twin piston, but they were out of my $ range.
 
I'll have to see what my Briggs is. Already did a head gasket on my dad's 18HP Briggs...I think mine is the same stupid engine...not sure if it's an Intek though. My mower was free and has zero warranty even though it's brand new...it was a flood victim.
 
Mine was also free, but not new. Mine is a 2006 model year. 21hp is a little much for this mower, but if I find a good deal on a snow thrower it will be a nice engine to have.
 
We pulled 18 mowers out of that Sears...they just wrote them off. Was only able to rebuild 6 or 7 of them though. The others were just too far gone.
 


Nice. The mower is in great shape otherwise. The original owner took great care of it. I'm hoping to get in some more time on it this week since I am on break from school.
 
Joe.. I'm a fan of the snow thrower idea. When I got my Craftsman/Husq last year, the 42 blower was the meanest they have. now they came out with a 50" version.

It's amazing, the snow we had this year.... it enjoyed every bit of it.
 
i've youtube'd some videos of the snow thrower in action, and might buy one if a good deal comes around. Even if it needs a little work to get it to work right. First priority is to get the mower back moving under its own power and nto me pushing it around everywhere. lol
 
you need to put a smaller pully on the trans axle and a bigger one on the engine, you could probably hit 20 25mph and mow that yard in half the time
 


A little more progress on Saturday. Got the old Kohler off and the frame wiped clean and the new Intek set on the frame. ran out of time so this is how it sits until this weekend.

 


No real updates. Got the engine mounted last weekend and the fuel line connected. Saturday night I got the exhaust tube connected to the engine (had to buy a new tube so I could reuse the factory muffler.) All that's left is the throttle, pullies, oil, and new gas and she will be ready to fire up.
