• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

DHP PCM's

I should be picking one of these up pretty soon, can I still use this PCM and get a dyno tune? I remember reading somewhere that some of the aftermarket PCM's are locked out.

the only con is that you will have to spend money to get it and it will be a little harder on equipment, as it makes more HP with the mods. Usually the canned tunes are designed to run a 3.4 pulley, but some only run a 3.5 just to be safe and not push the limits at all. From what I have heard this is not an issue with the DHP tune.

so would there would be a problem with getting the with only minimal mods for the time being? (intake, 3in dp...rockers and headers soon)

you dont need rockers at any point(they are nice but not needed), you also dont need headers(unless you plan on modding beyond the 3.4-but these are better than the DP/ PLog) especially if you have a DP already, but you will need a plog to combat the knock, and cooler plugs for sure. If you dont have all the suggested mods yet when you get it you should have a way to scan just to be safe. IMO you should always be able to scan. That way you know if you are being hard on your motor or not. The headers come with their own DP by the way...so you cant use the stock one or a stock replacement with the headers. Please reference the safely modding your 3800 thread for the list of mods...

yeah i know i dont need rockers and headers, but i already have rockers from my old engine and i would rather have headers than a plog. plus i have a small leak somewhere around the dp so i figure it would be better. and i have a aeroforce so im good with that. i just have some money and want to spend some on my car haha.

Besides, those mods are what's suggested to get, some might need more. And besides why not put better mods on the motor even if you don't really need them?

with the 3800 Performance V1.0 they referance Performance shift mode a lot and I do not have that on my car 01 GTP so does this work all the time or will it not work without the performance shift option. I looked all over tere site and it says nothing about this. And is Overkills PCM better than DHP

you have to ground one of the pins on the PCM for it to work. its pretty easy. you can also put it on a switch like i did.

If you don't have the Performance Shift option on the shift knob then they tune it into the PCM and Performance Shift will engage based on throttle position.

anyone know how to get in with 3800performance? i looked on the site & cant find any email or number.
thanks

I have used the same e-mail addresses as listed above, I also could not find a phone number for them. Off topic- they received my stock pcm two weeks ago and I have not received my deposit back yet. Anyone else know how long they usually take to refund the deposit?

thank you blue! i dont know if i couldnt find it because im on my phone or what. im keeping my stock pcm so i wont be worried about that, but good luck man!

i think i read that if you have a shift kit you dont want the trans lines firmed. is this true?
thanx
