Dan's Rims and Tire Thread.

I've came to the conclusion that I will eventually be purchasing new rims/tires for the GP. I will start saving a little out of each pay check and hopefully have saved enough cash by next summer to have a combo.

My car has all the goodies on the outside, but whats killing the looks, are the rims. Don't get me wrong, I love the looks of my Comp-G rims, but they are a bit too small for my liking and the offset sucks. I want something a bit beefier.

I will still be sticking with the chrome/polished look. Something simple like 5-spoke rims. I would really prefer 19's even though the tire price will kill me. I also want the offset to be flush with the fender, possibly around 35+? Not sure, not too knowledgeable on rims/tire sizes.

I love the looks of these two rims. 5-spoke, which I'm pretty stuck on and have a nice concave shape to them. Really wish the TSW's were full chrome.

Any help/suggestions on wheel choices would be appreciated.

Both looks good, but IMHO stay with 18s.

My train of thought, 18s will look to small and 20s may look to big. 19s fit right in the middle. I'll have to check out some tire prices before I make a final purchase. Lots of time.

Just looking for ideas. The bottom picture I posted are Corvette rims.

Tire Price comparison

18 vs 19

Cooper Zeon RS3-A $144 ea vs $167 ea
Pirelli P Zero Nero $145 ea vs $173 ea
Falken Azenzi PT-722 $162 ea vs $174 ea
Kuhmo Ecsta 4X KU22 $156 ea vs $177 ea
Falken Azenzi FK453 $164 vs $181

I could go on but you get the point. You will be spending an average of $20 more per tire for a 245/40/19 vs a 245/40/18.

Really leaning towards the TSW's. The corvette replica rims have a awful offset. What I'm trying to avoid. The TSW's are a bit pricey but also unsure how they will look since they aren't chrome. Only chrome wheels have been on my car, and that's all I can envision.

Mmmm. Kory great find. Those are sexy.

Exactly what I'm looking for. I wonder how "Hyper Silver" would look on my car.

Yeah Alix0r was gonna get them but never did. Try googling some pics online in hypersilver. It's hard to say as in person tho.

If you are wanting the TSW's in Chrome then another option that would look similar is maybe some Saleen Mustang Wheels, or some 95' Cobra R, or maybe some 03-04 Cobra wheels all will fit the gp's hub assembly I would know Ive done the fitment test (has to be wheels for a 1996-2004 Mustang to fit the GP's Hub assembly), had a 1996 Mustang Gt with the 95 cobra R's in chrome, you can see them on the Mustang in one of the pictures on my page if you wanted to see what they looked like, but I just didn't care for the look so I switched out to the Multi-Spoke FR500 wheels. If you are interested in the wheels I mentioned check out AmericanMuscle.com all they do is Mustang parts but it might be a way for you to get wheels close in look to what you want without breaking the bank. My staggered set of Anthracite FR500 (Front 245/45zr/17 [17"x9"], Rear 315/35/17 [17"x10.5"]) with really good tires only ran me around $1200 for all four corners, Plus they do Free Shipping and they will even do Free Mount and Balance for any set that you buy. Plus they are super quick on delivery I live in the midwest and they are based out of Pennsylvania so it was only 2-3 business days after I had ordered and they were at my door and on the Mustang. Super sweet company, will continue doing business with them after I get my 03-04 Cobra.

here is the link I forgot just how many wheels they had on the site. It will take you a while to get through them all.
