• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Danielle's 99 GT :)

saggy rubbers isn't a big issue, means someone got overconfident at the pharmacy counter..

holy rubbers.. not THATS an issue hahaha

No, not yet. I'm at Arcola tractor pulls right now.
Probably won't get to it till next weekend.

But, car did survive the tornado storm earlier. A big branch landed to close for comfort but didn't hurt anything.

Well, I got up at 5 am today to tackle the TB. I fought over the engine bay with the bugs, but by golly, I did it! YAY!!

Took the filter, elbow, coupler and retainer ring out last night and gave up fighting with the screen until this morning.

Then I dug into it. Got the top nut off, and was having a hell of a time with the other 2. Finally got the TB bracket off, and threw that stupid bracket away after I was done calling it every name under the sun. Then, after I stood there for 10 minutes fighting with the socket and rachet about why I couldn't get the bottom 2 nuts off, I realized how much easier a deep well socket and extension would have made my life. Back to the tool box I went and dug out both. Easy as pie then. Grrrr.

Got the TB off and managed to get the cables undone too.
Here it is in all its nasty-ness glory.

^^I just took a rag and kinda wiped around the edge in there because I wasn't sure if I could go crazy spraying stuff?

As clean as it was going to get.

Gasket appeared to be ok, so back together the car went. Putting it back together was 10000000 times easier than tear down, thank god.

Does this screen need replaced or is that normal? I did bend it a little myself trying to get it out and back in.

Then the moment of truth came....would she start back up?

Drum roll please......

YES! :th_biggrin2::th_biggrin2:

Now, hopefully no more codes!

Tomorrow, if this heat wave ends like they say it will, I'm going to have dad help me get the car on ramps and replace the exhaust insulators.

Idk about all that stuff there. But that pink nail polish is hawt girl.

Can I ask how the hell did you get up at 5 am AND work on your car. That to me is amazing.

lol, thanks. Polish doesn't look so pretty now. I tried gloves but it was to dang hot for that crap.

And idk how I did it myself, set my alarm for 5 and was sure I'd ignore it...but I didn't. Got up and got busy. Beats doing it early when it was 80* vs 106* that its gonna be shortly.

That's a good point. I'm not a morning person at all so I can't imagine getting up and dragging my ass out to do it. Gotta beat the heat though.

I love how both threads turned to your nails as the next topic. Funny

You can go ahead and throw that screen away. Bent like that isn't going to help anything, some argue that the screen smooths the airflow for when it hits maf but it's not going to effect you much that you'll notice. An angled pick in the holes around the edge of the screen helps to get it out easier if you want a new one but the ported ones from zzp don't come with it. I have a ported one for sale if you interested shoot me a pm.

You should deep sockets on 98% of the stuff you take off. And the longer the socket wrench handle the more torque you have on some of those tuff ones.

Nice work, I'd rather get up at 5 and beat the heat too.

I got the screen back after I bent the tar out if it. It went back in ok. It'll stay where its at. Now to see if the maf stays happy.

I am impressed! First with starting at 5am that is crazy...2nd with how clean you got the TB...3rd working on car with bright glossy nails=awesome...yeah that screen is prob best staying in so the maf will stay happy...btw when you getting those Purple matching lug nuts? Do you like black wheels?

Lol, thanks! And no on the lugs yet. Not sure if I will or not. I'll probably keep stock wheels, don't wanna fork out money for new rubber when current tires only have 20k on them.
I still need to get the rear calipers painted. Weather is not being my friend.
Not exactly sure how much more I wanna do to it since I'm not sure how long I'll get to keep the car.

You are going to sell the beast after so much TLC?
:( I really don't want to. I planned all along to drive it till the wheels fall off. I love this car.
But bf said, when we get married there wouldn't be a need for a 2 dr (he has a 4 dr, my old G6). So sell the prix and I'd drive the G6 again.
But IMO....a 2 dr is fine until kids come along. And I don't plan on having kids until being being married a few years. But what do I know? lol

Deep down he has a soft spot for the Prix. If I didn't buy it, he probably would have. Sooo...I think I can pull some strings and let her stay longer, hopefully!

Your a woman if you want to keep the prix he won't be able to say **** about it lol and yes I wouldn't worry about the 2 till after kids...me and my wife aren't having kids till like 30 screw that haha 1 dog is good enough hah
