Re: Danielle's 99 GT (sneak peek)

I'm searching...

Another question....contemplating getting the PC 7424...and I need to pick 6 pads.
All you people with experience in this, which ones should I get?

Re: Danielle's 99 GT (sneak peek)

You'll use orange and white the most. I actually have a couple other colors and never touch them. SIP (super intensive) uses an orange typically and the FP or finish polish, uses white as habit. The rest is by hand.

Re: Danielle's 99 GT (sneak peek)

Also, Is it possible to just take that metal shroud out of stock housings (and then do HIDs) and that would help light output? But I'm assuming that also requires pulling the lens off the housing.

This will not buy you anything in terms of light output. It just scatters the light everywhere. The headlights on the car look good as is. I would just leave them. The projectors are not worth it. Trust me. I had them before and went back to stock lights. If anything, just do some "do it yourself painted lights". That would give you some contrast up front. It's not difficult to do. I did mine and my brothers that way. Have you upgraded the fsctory fog lights to an aftermarket fog light? That would help out as well.

Another side note. Don't get the ebay black stock lights. They have a smaller chrome reflector than the stock lights. That's why the light output is bad with those. Trust me on that one as well.

Yeah, the fogs are aftermarket with a h3 bulb. They are the only thing that allows me to see at all. I looked on ebay but couldn't find just the headlight. I have 2 sets of corners, don't really want a 3rd. Shoulda kept the old stockers and fixed them up.

Honestly, how is light output with hids in the stock housings?
I have silverstar ultra in now, they have helped a lot, just not enough. And I get flashed ALL the time...they have been adjusted and aimed correctly, so Idk why. The one shroud appears to be bent a little, so maybe thats why.

Re: Danielle's 99 GT (sneak peek)

I have had my HID's in the stock housings for almost 2 weeks and have not had anyone flash me.

I sold my HID's along with the projectors. I went back to halogens. I am using a set of philips x-treme power bulbs with a relay harness and a set of H3 osram nightbreakers in my fogs, also with a relay harness. I am happy with the light output.
