It's currently very loosely in the PVC being held by some RTV. (its being pulled cuz I drilled the hole to far away and its a smidgen to big and we didn't have the right size grommets at work)
I was going to get a new sensor and drill a hole in the coupler and stick it there so it would be tightly sealed.

Honestly, I have no idea wth im doing.
I read and read and read Nawarrs thread and still didn't do it right.

I would, but the closest pull a part to me is only a half hour away, but I don't think I'll have time to run up there this week.
And it's going on a long road trip this weekend so I'd like to get it fixed before then.

that sensor is 10 or 12 bucks at best.

you could always cut the wires and add to them, get your soldering skills up to par.

mine is long because i spiced in a new pig tail for my iat and maf. came with 12 inch tails, i left it all on and coiled the wire up. long is better than short.

Ok, that makes sense.
Should I still get a new one and put it a little closer?
I just don't know how tightly that rtv sealed it up and if it will eventually pull out?

I have zero electrical skills lol.
I'm learning the difference between single and 3 phase power and 60 or 50 hertz depending on country :)
but not how to solder wires lol


Sorry, I am just clueless on some under the hood stuff and I don't wanna set off codes and get stranded somewhere cuz the car won't stay running due to the sensor being messed up

if you pulled the air box out and build the new intake, you can solder, and you have all the stuff right at work, lucky you, go to you tube and search soldering wires, its real easy. they tell you what type of solder and don't forget the shrink wrap, tape sucks!

you dont even really need a soldering iron, i used a bic lighter.

Also, The driver side corner bulb is being a pain. It worked fine at first, then when the parking lights are on, it wouldn't be on, but turn signal works. Move the whole housing a little and it comes on and is fine. Well yesterday, the moving trick stopped working. I tried spraying some contact cleaner and it didn't work. I have also jiggled the wires going to the bulb outlet and that didn't seem to work either.
The bulb is fine as it works when turn signal is on, it just wont work with the parking lights.
(this is the inside corner bulb, not the little one behind the reflector).

Any idears?

Next time you need to toss a sensor or tube into a new intake.. consider looking at pcv grommets in the help section of the parts store. $1 or two can get a nice clean looking install that will come back out for future movement etc.

Finally had a day off and some free time, so I washed it in the rain and went to work and used the heated shop to do this....
(check out that mirror image, I'm impressed with myself)

I used turtle wax rubbing compound first, then polishing compound.
And then I followed up with Meguiars Hi-Tech Yellow #26.
Pretty sure I'm in love with that wax^.
Then I backed it out of the shop and into the rain and watched all the water bead up and run off :)

I only had time to do the hood, driver fender and part of the bumper, so the rest of the car will get done soon hopefully.



And, this showed up in the mail the other day :)

The cool stuff about number 26 is it drys super hard and it can actually enhance a previous layer of wax so the more coats the deeper the gloss but you got to wait 16 hours for the first coat to cure but I love that stuff I only strip my car bare about once a year and that's when I do all my polishing and what not in-between that I just wash and use #26

I was very impressed with it and the way it worked.
I just used a little cheapo buffer and a microfiber bonnet, but for my inexperience, I'm very happy with it.

Thanks to the guy at O'Reillys for recommending it :)
