coolant level sensor, you gotta be crapping me!

Well, the coolant is up to level, I am real meticulous about maintenance.
However, the "low coolant" light sometimes flashes. Car is not overheating or running warmer than normal. I thought "Well maybe the sensor is bad"
Located it on the radiator, could harnesses seem to be in the way, but it is right there.

So I look at autozone website for a price, and they want 50 bucks for this thing! Hell with that, I will just live with the light flashing.
It might be messed up on count of having used "alumaseal" to stop a tiny leak I simply could not locate, but messed up or not, I ain't about to drop a 50 on that thing.

I don't get why simple sensors like that are so God-awful expensive. A MAF or MAP, maybe, but this stupid thing?

ya . mine flickers at startup. but i don't care. 60 bucks locally, like 30 online. not worth the time.

Are we to guess that sensors and lights like that are for people who NEVER check the fluids?
I used to have this 1990 Cavalier Z24 that did the same thing.

Just unplug it and the light will never come back on, mine has been unplugged for years.

How about take it out and clean it? that generally helps.
