• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Confirm what all has been done to my car, help solve the mysteries!

Thanks!! Yes, I think that may be the plan going forward...may re plumb it all. I still also need to locate the IC fluid res...assuming there is one or add it if needed. .

you dont have a res tank i bet. why the fill neck is where it is.

in my pics you see the plastic tank in the front of the rad support, thats my res tank. i welded two bolts to the rad support to mount it. hoses run behind the headlight to the bay.

Got all the inter-cooler plumping cleaned up and redone. I went with the wbody store small reservoir mounted right next to the radiator fill. Didn't get it in the pic but worked out well so far. I should have taken a picture of the all the hodge-podged BS I ripped out plumbing wise.

Replace those msd coils packs with stock ones ASAP! I can sell you some, I have extras.

The msd coils are worse than stock unless you have the entire msd ignition setup.

You should get rid of the throttle body spacer too, that's a vacuum leak waiting to happen and there are really no benefits to it.

If you are looking to do more performance upgrades then you should consider a Gen V supercharger and northstar throttle body setup. There is some pcm tuning involved but it's not that bad. And you could reuse the Intercooler with it, you would just have to open it up a little more to match the lim and supercharger.

that oil cap, is it a breather cap? if so thats not good really. be nice if we knew what ic you had. cause many dont have functioning pcv, and you need to install a nipple in the tb or that spacer, then run a vac line to the valve cover to by pass the pcv that the core might be blocking off.

and whats that red thing bolted to the vac tree top rear of the blower? thats a fuel pressure regulator or something?

I think its the inlet for the aftermarket fuel rails. Agree on the 710 breather, needs rego cap with Eddy sticker instead lol. And clean coolant reservoir.

Have stock coil packs ready to go on and thanks for the tip on the TB spacer. Any chance if removed it would affect the current tune at all or safe to just remove altogether with no ill effects? As far as additional performance goes I think the only thing I may do is port the other Gen 3 SC I already have. I swapped snouts already as the other one made some odd noises and thought it maybe the coupler but it looked perfectly fine when pulled apart. Now sounds like I may have some rotor pack noise but can swap everything out once the porting is done.

Yes, it is the pressure regulator I believe for the PRJ fuel rails. The only paperwork I have on the IC is zzp install instructions for a stage 2 kit. I dont believe the PCV is functioning at all as it also seems like it will spit oil from the breather cap. Yes, I should have cleaned the Coolant res since I had it out but didnt as I got lazy and needed to though the car back together to take it for an emissions test, the whole engine compartment could benefit for a decent cleaning in general.

Any easy way to see if the IC is blocking the PCV ports without removing it altogether or easiest to just reroute it in the manner above?

take that breather off, fire up the car, then put your hand over the hole, if you feel suction the pcv is not working. we got a fix for that.

http://www.grandprixforums.net/threads/44478-How-to-get-PCV-to-work-instead-of-valve-cover-breather! theres a few ways to get this done and call it right. one is to tap and install a nipple like shown on a l67 tb, a spacer plate can also be drilled and tapped for a nipple as well. instead of tapping into the valve cover, you can also drill and tap the lim install a nipple as well, all these are posted in that thread.

you might be able to take the cap off the supercharger and remove the pcv valve and other items from the pcv in the supercharger to see if there is a blockage.

If the pcv is functional due to the spacer then take the spacer out and drill and tap the brass plug in the bottom of your throttle body and put in a nipple to run the pcv hose too.

looks like a gen 3 blower to me. so the pcv dont need to go to anything if theres no suction from the valve cover, that would mean hes got functioning pcv,

but this could be a older ic core and not have a working right pcv and need the hose from the v/c to tb. and then ditch the breather. breather is letting in un metered air and messing with your tune some for sure.

A little update here as I have been driving my truck lately and neglecting the car but got some stuff done to it this weekend...No suction from the valve cover at idle so possibly working PCV? For some reason I still do not trust that it is function properly as it will spit oil from that crappy breather and the super strong fuel smell as well (is any of that related to the PCV funtion or where to start with that besides the open exhaust and probably running rich? the fuel smell gives me a headache after a while it is so strong).

Also swapped to stock coils and decided to check the plugs...with everything done to the car it was running 606's! Threw in some 104's in the front three banks I found in the garage from may old compg. Only found 4 plugs total so will do the back three later when I get more 104's or possibly 103's due to running the 2.8.

Have left the spacer for now and will most likely remove it when I swap to the (not yet) ported gen3 I have down the road.

Fixed/replaced 3 out of the 4 window regulators and motors and only have one left so that is win as well.

Still have a lot to sort out and touch up but getting there slowly but surely.
