I just got a good looking ported 3. let me run with it until i find another gen v for a decent price. first things first though. racetronix pump and 60-80# injectors

Why does everyone say upgrade to the V? It's really not that much better. We've been over this! lol. Anyways, good luck with the noise, I can't watch videos here at work.

Yup, but I didn't upgrade just for the upgrade, I spun a bearing and an L32 was less than an L67 and it had less miles. Upgrading from a Gen III to a Gen V when there is nothing wrong with the Gen III will only net your bragging rights and potential disappointment.

better than a 3 yes, better than a ported 3 well that's debateable............. Especially depending who ported the gen3.........

I had that thread about me getting a smaller pulley that turned into all kinds of information about the Gen III vs the Gen V. Stock for stock there isn't very much of a performance gain, only a gain in durability\longevity. Think about it, the L32 was a 20 HP increase. It had no U-bend, a larger throttle body, a better tune, slightly better heads, etc. All that only netted 20 HP and no increase in torque.

Link? I know the timing tables on the 04+ is better, thats why im running it on my 99 (well its a hybrid between my 99 tables and 05 tables).
