• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I've had it apart like 12 times. It's leaking from being apart, not an actual leak.

Left to do is the throttle and front brake lever. Then an oil change. Then we ride.

swapped out the front brake lever/master cylinder and swapped the grip on the throttle so it matches the other side today while i changed the oil on the ZZR.

i just need to re-run a small section of fuel line and i should be able to fill the tank up with gas. the i need to do an oil change, but i ordered some new filters for it so i could switch out for new ones. apparently the stock ones you're supposed to just take them out and clean them. i don't know the mileage of the motor so i'll just do the bike some justice and replace the filters while i'm doing it anyway.

i'm ready to get it out and show it off!

i ran the fuel lines and put a new fuel filter on. then i poured some gas in, kicked it a few times, and it started right up.

rode it around the neighborhood a little bit, stopped at the gas station and topped off the tank, and brought it back home. it lives!

i was kind beating on it a little bit and it started to run funny, but i let it cool down a little and it seemed fine. air cooled problems. i'm thinking this next winter i'll do a rebuild on the motor (probably more performance!) and i was also thinking using a single shock/spring setup that would come straight from the center upright to the seat would look pretty badass. then i'd cut the one cross bar that the springs are on, replace it with a rounded piece and get it closer to the rear tire and open up the back end a bunch more.

i should be getting the oil change parts in the mail tomorrow so i'll probably tackle that this weekend.

on saturday i'll be cleaning it up, doing a nice once over, making sure the timing is still set properly with the new exhaust, taking it out to a show (and taking some legitimate nice pictures of it), then putting it up for sale.

i've already got a friend who says he's pretty interested. i don't know how i feel about selling to a friend when 1) i'll see the bike again and 2) if something happens to it i'll have to hear about it. it's a full disclosure sale, so i won't be trying to hide anything about it...so realistically i shouldn't worry about anything.

either way, car parts in the future.

you know what when my dad sales a car he trys and sells it as far away as he can. One time someone did come back when the freaking car broke then he wanted us to pay for the repair my dad like no not ever happening gtfo lol so yeah i wouldnt sell it to your friend it becomes heart breaking to see it when your friend shows up. best of luck on selling it
