I was going to do the SI valves because I got a killer deal on them from a local guy who X'd his turbo build on this $700 SE. If they need machining then that is no issue...I'd just like to know if they are worth it or not...building a motor and the heads form the ground up is something new for me so I want to make sure this gets done right the first time...

oh for sure i agree with you, but with heavily ported heads are you really in need of oversized valves? if you think so then go for it, but i wouldnt skimp there either and i would just go straight for the manley valves that intense sells.

Hmmm...damn...yeah...but for $360+ for Manley's...and around $100 for these...BRAND NEW...I can't gripe. I'll talk to ZZP about it but I am pretty sure it doesn't matter...since they are just gonna answer yes or no to all my questions.

LOL........ I am sure this one will last for ya. Hopefully my car will stay together when I put Bio's old 3.2 on it.......

I've heard alot of issues with the SI's breaking off like BIo says.

IIRC, PRJ recommends Manley valves. You may want to look into a set of those....

I picked up a set of PRJ S3 heads off a buddy. Paul put SI valves in them. In talking to Paul about them and the porting etc before I bought them, he mentioned no issues with the SI's. I've heard they supposedly break, yet am having no issues. One thing he and Todd from Intense have mentioned was not going huge on the valves. Going with the largest valves available has two potential problems. first is the space between the valves becomes very thin and vunerable, the other is you end up outside of the hardened area of the head. This means the valve is hitting soft material.

Haven't ot the measurements of them just yet from my buddy...but they were going in a turbo build h scraped...so hopefully they aren't overkill...

No I bought it from 98GTXDAYTONA. Pretty sure it came off your car. Silver Intense 3.2.

Reassembling and porting heads today. If all goes well...gonna be done just in time for Christmas :D
