Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Andesmint's 2000 GT.. BROKEN AGAIN!!

Re: 2000 GT "budget build" *NEW PICS OF TOP END PARTS*

I probably would of painted the entire blower instead of leaving half polished/half painted.

Re: 2000 GT "budget build" *NEW PICS OF TOP END PARTS*

alriiight throttle body is done! i'm just gunna unload a few more pics here of the top end as well now that its all done.

I actually took the whole trottle body assembly apart in order to clean and repaint it all. Unfortunaly once of the little screws that hold in one of the sensors snapped. had to drill it out and re-tap the threads. other than that it went well
. sorry again for phone pictures

Even repainted the throttle cable bracket thingies haha. sorry idk the technical term.

This one shows on the color well i believe

and here it is assembled

P.S. Anybody know the torque specs for the bolts holding the blower together? like the snout and rotors. Also best way to seal it? thanks. sorry if all the pics are a bad thing, but everyone always asks for pics in other peoples threads so i thought id post as much as i could. let me know if i should stop haha

but... i like shiny stuff... and i thought all that red would be too much. had to offset it somehow.

Re: 2000 GT "budget build" *NEW PICS OF TOP END PARTS*

I don't know the snout bolt specs(always just tightened it by feel)but I do know black rtv works to seal it.Just a real thin layer.

alright i can handle that. thanks. oh and who sells the best SC couplers? figured i should change it.

Re: 2000 GT "budget build" *NEW PICS OF TOP END PARTS*

Seal the snout with anaerobic sealer only.

Don't worry about a torque spec, just snug them all down real tight.

Re: 2000 GT "budget build" *NEW PICS OF TOP END PARTS*

Zzp get the green one they sell

Avoid the Dorman ones.

alright cool i saw that one on there ill add it to the cart for my next order lol. and just out of curiosity whats wrong with the dorman ones?

Re: 2000 GT "budget build" *NEW PICS OF TOP END PARTS*

Got mine from zzp, one in my gen 3 and 5.Haven't had any issues yet.Tho theres quite a few other places to get them.Probably cheaper with the same quality too.

I didnt know you had to use anaerobic sealant, learn somethin new everyday. Why is rtv not a good idea?Does it degrade over time or something?Ive used it on both of my blowers for a while now.

Re: 2000 GT "budget build" *NEW PICS OF TOP END PARTS*

I believe it has to do with the chemical composition of the SC oil. must degrade RTV.

Re: 2000 GT "budget build" *NEW PICS OF TOP END PARTS*

I'll have to let everyone know how many years it takes to start leaking when I see oil in my intake valleys.lol.Longer than two obviously:p

haha glad to hear you aren't having any issues! I suppose that as long as it outlives a coupler then your set :p

Re: 2000 GT "budget build" *NEW PICS OF TOP END PARTS*

So, I've heard of people plugging the silencer ports to get more whine.. but I also noticed they mainly did it once they intercooled. can it be done w/o intercooling? i just want to hear that thing whine haha.
