98 GTP Performance Shift light

my perf. shift light wont come on. ive read that these arent always hooked up? or is the bulb burned out?

Since the blue Perf Shift only appeared in the 98s dash, Does the light in the dash flash on briefly when you turn the key on? If not it may be a bad bulb.

the light doesn't come on with the key on unless the perf shift button is pushed on, just like the high beam light. Do you notice a difference in shifting if perf shift is on?

it is a much bigger difference if you have a reprogrammed PCM for tranny functions. All dash lights should come on briefly when you power up the vehicle.... go and try it to see if it lights up at all when the rest of the dash lights come on.

it won't light up unless the button is pushed in on the shifter

It takes about 10 min to pop off the dash and check the light. A new bulb is about $2.

It was the first dash bulb of mine to burn out in my 98 so I bet it's just a bad bulb.

I let it annoy me fr a year or so before I finally tore into it. Had I known then what I know now, I would have fixed it immediately. Taking the dash aprt is very simple and fast.
