2002 Impala: On it's way

No SS badges and flag stickers...

Cut a little coil off that front spring or find a set that lowers the front...bad, lol.

The reverse rake is killing me.

Otherwise, I like those wheels...and yeah the SRT wheels have a pretty low offset but if you roll the fenders and run a decent amount of camber you;d be golden...especially if you're bagging it.

Yes the reverse rake kills me too. Idk what it is but it's weird. The drivers front is way high, passenger rear is the lowest and doesnt stick out as much as the drivers rear. I'm assuming GM didnt build the rear fenders exactly identical as there is a 1/4" difference at least from each side and they didn't account for the battery weighing down the passenger front corner. The sub in the back makes the back go down about half an inch more. But even without that the front needs to be way lower. There's just no option except coil overs or bags. And for the price of coilovers, I may as well go bags and go lower.

I want the fron the match the rear, which would be like another 2" at least lower. These springs lowered the front 1.7 or 1.9" I can't remember, and from what I understand I can't go too much lower without bottoming out the strut. I really dont have the money on an air ride setup now tho.

The front already has a slight poke with no spacers, only spacers in the rear so I don't think the srt wheels would work without sticking way out. The rear already has rolled fenders and is as flush as I can get when the suspension is compressed. I touches the fender if its compressed enough.

I really like the flag decal so I'm gonna keep that. I like how it doesn't stick out too much. I was inspired by the monte fender flags when I did that several years ago. I like the SS stickers because its something different there, but not necessarily that it says SS. I feel like it would be too plain if I took them off, but I don't really wanna add emblems or anything there.

As for spoiler, I have wanted one for awhile but I don't like any of my options, not even the SS one. I've contemplated making my own, but I'm not really ready to dive into that yet. I want to do a small ductail type of thing, kinda like a '78 Trans am where the spoiler goes down the side some. It would be subtle, I just would like to really think about something like that before I started. I'm handy with fiberglass and bondo, and was thinking of using styrofoam or somthing as a base, then resin over than, a few coats of glass, and then bondo over that.

Does the video work?

Are you sure those springs were installed correctly and not front on back and vice versa? Also what kind of springs are those? Subs should not make a huge difference in ride height. I have mine on SSC's and even the two 12's in the back my rear end didn't move and I have front rake.

They're SSC's and yes installed correctly, the front and rear springs look completely different. I have probably 2-250 pounds in the trunk. But idk why the front is higher.
I'll take all the audio gear out soon and see if it makes a difference. But even before it, I didn't think the front was low enough. But you can see from stock pictures it's way lower than stock and the fenders on an impala are different than gp's. The front has way more of a gap stock. I'll post a pic of the passenger side. It looks a lot better in the front. If I could get the drivers front to the height of the passenger side I think I'd be fine with it and not have to go lower.

But then again I plan to add another 200 pounds to the trunk... Hmm maybe I could fab a battery
Mount on the drivers side too and redo the intake

I think it's also the ground it's parked on. It changed a lot with very little levels of the ground. I took some pics today on a flat surface of both sides. I'll post them

Looks really good from a distance

Hard to tell in the pictures that the car isn't even clean

It looks pretty good. Sits a little low in the back. Doesn't SSC sell rear springs designated as an audio lowering spring?

my car sat almost level with all my audio equipment in the trunk (sa-15, 5cube box made from 1 inch mdf, 3 amps) and that was on the eibach springs. the front was 2 finger gap the back was 1.5 finger gap. without the audio it was 2 finger gap for both. seems weird that it would sag that much

I've been told those springs are like a rock. The SSC's are pretty soft and comfortable for a lowering spring. And also the way the fenders are on an impala, the gaps aren't ideal stock. In the pictures its about an even 2" drop all around.
I really do want to get the front lower tho

Can anybody tell me if the video worked? Not sure since it automatically logs me into my photobucket when I click on it

paint those bumper and side moldings to the color of the car and throw on a SS or LS appearance package front bumper.

I want an SS bumper with the extension SO bad but they're impossible to find. I think the Mouldings kinda break it up a bit, but idk they look good painted too. I definately have to paint the rocker.

The exhaust video should be one of the last posts on page 1

Just contact someone that sells Intrax springs...

Ask to buy the front set only.

Or, just get some higher sitting springs for the back...it's the audio that's doing it.

I think I want to raise the rear. I wantto sit like your 'balt :th_laugh-lol3:
I don't believe Intrax lowers too much more, and if it does I would think it wouldn't be too good on the struts.
So... Does anybody know if the video worked? :th_laugh-lol2:
