Re: 1997 Black GTP, I Like KR + Update

FWIW I used an ACDelco O2. Has been working great for over a year. It would be nice if you could pull some timing or run some racing fuel to rule out false KR.

Sent from my Droid

ACDelco o2 is more expensive so thats why i chose Bosch. Ill look into it more. i thought about putting some Racing fuel in there but i have not a clue where to get it.

Plugged fuel filter, you never said if you got it changed out or not.

I have not been able to get it yet.

Used PB Blaster and tried over and over again and the damn bolt or filter wont budge. God i love rust.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, I Like KR + Update

Ubend is still intact. 100% stock but intake.

I just figured 7* KR and power loss was a bit scary and had no idea thats normal.

It got my heart racing a tad.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, I Like KR + Update

Ill get under the car again and try some upcoming day.

5/8 wrench on the fuel line bolt and use vice grips on the filter bolt and twist the filter you say?

Im open to all ideas to get this b*tch off

Re: 1997 Black GTP, I Like KR + Update

I put a line wrench on the fuel line and used slip joint pliers to turn the filter off.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, I Like KR + Update

just be gentle yet firm on gettin the fuel filter off. you can do it!

as far as o2 sensors i've always been told delco or denso. i dont have a great opinion of bosch.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, I Like KR + Update

Plugged up fuel filter can cause a lot of problems with these engines, just saying. Mine was plugged and the car would fall flat on its face when trying to go WOT.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, I Like KR + Update

I ended up using a steel line cutter, you know the ones you spin around it like a million damn times until it cuts through? Then I took the filter, rinsed it out really well, filled it with Argon, and torched it til the nut moved. That was the ONLY way I could get mine off, and believe me, I tried for hours.
I put a male-to-male flare nut fitting between the newly cut ends of the line and installed my new filter.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, I Like KR + Update

i suppose ill keep working at it, possibly it will give one of these times.

Anyone know why my tensioner pulley is squeakier than hell?

Re: 1997 Black GTP, I Like KR + Update

No im pretty sure thats the tensioner.

Well coing home from School, car took forever to turn over and i as was driving home, i smelled gas through the air vents.

When i got home, i popped the hood, front injectors were fine, but the back middle one was leaking like a b*tch. Removed the rails, took off the injector and sure enough, the o-ring was busted, put on a new one and were good to go.

So josh, i suppose you are right when you said, buy new o-rings.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, I Like KR + Update

Squeaky tensioner could be that you have the belt one rib off on the crank. Check it out
