• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

Well, here's the deal GPF world. The other day, I heard some news that will change my life forever. My girlfriend hasn't been feeling well at all lately. She went to the doctor, comes home and tells me she's 6 weeks pregnant. If everything goes great, hopefully it will, my child will be here in December. This wasn't planned, since I'm only 20 years old and still have 3 years of engineering college left. But, I need to be strong, and continue on with my life.

With that being said, I'm making one last ditch effort to turn a wrench and spend money on my car for awhile. I'm not saying the car is 100% done forever, but having a child, my responsibilities have changed a lot and need to put my money towards other things.

Here's the list of things I am doing next week Saturday:

Ported & Polished Heads (Done by Josh)
"New" Intake/Exhaust Valve (Used, but brought them to a machine shop to get grinded and cleaned).
Harland Sharp 1.9 Roller Rockers
L76 90# Springs
Modified Retainers
Viton Valve Seals
Comp Cam Valve Locks
AL104's
ZZP 10.5mm Plug Wires
Fel-Pro Head Gaskets
Poly Motor Mounts
Poly Dog-Bone Bushings
1' Flexible Intake Tubing
ARP Head Studs
And the other remaining gaskets

I'll be running the Gen V on a 3.4 after all is done.

Now, about all of you know what my car looks like, add that mod list to it now, and picture a baby car seat in the back seat. ;)

** The reason behind all this in the first place, is the cruising KR. When I closed my silencer ports on the Gen V with QuikSteel, it didnt hold up. When I pulled the blower off, one of the QuikSteel molds were gone. Meaning it went into the engine. My guess, it either bent a valve on the way out, or is causing a hot spot on a cylinder. That's when I'm replacing everything in the heads. The cruise KR keeps getting worse and worse, and at idle my vacuum is only -15.4 to -14.8. Which isn't right at all. Something in the valve train is messed up, causing the issues. And with the kid coming, this all needs to be fixed now.

FILL THE SILENCER PORTS THEY SAID.

Everyone told people not to do it they said.

No one listened.

And now, the bottom end is probably damaged.

Hence all the KR.

But you'll know once you yank the heads off.

And congrats, backwards race guy. Good luck with all of this.

:)

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

if you do it right, it doesnt fall out. mine never did

I should of drilled some small holes, or cleaned better. But what's done is done and it's time to tear the heads off to see whats really going on.

Congrats to you and your gf, the world needs more ppl like you.

I appreciate. No idea how someone can leave their kid behind. Planned or unexpected. It's still my kid.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

:O

...well then.

Congrats Dan. Enjoy your hours of sleep while you can!

Well then is right.

From going to the track years ago with the silver car when we first met, to me now having a kid. Oh, how things can change so quickly.

Every minute of sleep isnt taken for granted.

Congrats Dan! Wish you the best of luck, and you can do it!

Thank you, I appreciate it.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Hopefully on Saturday.

Only if the heads are doing being ported by then. If not, it will be postponed until the next weekend.
