1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Don't you have to remove the lim not to mention tightening the headbolts on the inside. Seems like a lot more work instead of calming down the eagerness and just throwing the rockers in after the heads are bolted and the lifters/ pushrods are in.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Ummm what he said whats the rush? Good luck torquing them heads down with the rockers already on

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

I think he was just test fitting for pics because he's excited...... At least I hope that's what he was doing...

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Jeez.

Calm down everyone.

Those rockers are only finger tight, just wanted to see them together.

Didn't know what I was doing was so wrong.

As of right now, I have no idea how the pushrods will clear the heads. The rockers look to be tilted way to far back, which will cause the pushrods to hit the heads? But, the rockers aren't fully bolted down, just finger tight for now.

This is what had me thinking your were just trying to throw them on like that

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Well quickly looking when the rockers were on, It seemed like they would hit the head. But after looking closer, I see how it all works out.

I'm aware you can't install the rockers now, because you wouldn't be able to get the push rods in, or really torque down the head.

My sound purpose of doing this, is to see it all done, and I was trying to invision it all completely together.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

This is how I envision it all going...

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Sooo you can put rockers on before headbolts. Except you leave them loose and wiggle them left/right as needed to put in bolts/pushrods. IT's more of a pita

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

And Dan.. please ensure that the dot on the pedestal is facing the valve. If not.. they are assembled incorrectly,.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Jeez Dan tHis thing done yet?

Dan.

It's done... Well kinda.

I only put the rockers on the head before install, because I wanted to see them completed. Only finger tight. When I went to install, I took them off, torqued down the heads, then reinstalled the rockers.
