Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

Had to dremel the dimes a little to get them to fit:

Here's a pic of Brandon doing work. Always under the car. Lol

question were is the jack stand? and did you vaccum up all the metal shavings im only asking to help solve your kr

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

If not a chipped piston, which I hope and kinda figure it is not.. but. Perhaps the theory Josh proposed.. cylinders are so hot because so rich, fuel washing going on, then you finally drive normal and it doesn't have the rich afr to go with it and that's why you seen the couple degrees of knock come and go while barely driving?

Also could be false KR Dan. Check your KR sensors and make sure they're plugged in. Motor automatically retards timing if one comes unplugged. I had that issue with the silver car a few times. One is on the back of the block, the other is on the front of the block.

Yes but wouldn't it be a constant amount?

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

Alex Dedovich ran a chipped piston on his turbo car for over a year without any KR. I personally don't think you chipped a piston. Plus one of your plugs would have been missing a few pieces if that was the case.

There have been people that chipped pistons and never destroyed plugs. But fwiw I don't think he chipped a piston either.

Did it just recently start the cruising kr?

Yes. This is recent. Started doing this a few days ago, I noticed when going to school. When I got home, I popped the hood and my filter was off my intake. Must of forgot to tighten down. I figured that was issue, put it back on and I believe everything was fine. Didnt really monitor though. Then I started noticing it again after I got my MPS on the Gen V.

Ill have to check the KR sensors next. I figured if I chipped a piston, one of the plugs would be at least somewhat damaged. But they all were gapped right, just looked old.

Not sure at all what's causing this... Possibly a bent valve of some sort? Maybe a very minor bend.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

Valves dont just bend on there own, they have to hit something.

I say it's something ignition/electrical related. ICM, faulty sensor, something giving out irregular numbers.
