Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

Then go find me one.

Please.

LKQ Holland. $500 for low mile L26's. Look for Buick's as well, not just Grand Prixs. The place right next door to LKQ sells full motors already pulled from around the country. Just have to have them find you one and they get it there for you to pick up a few days later.

$500 isn't too bad. The price range I was expecting though. Only LKQ I've been too was in Wayland.

I believe mr Andrew has like 3 sitting in his shop.

He always has spare parts around his shop. He's the man to go too. I'd go to him first anyways.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

Pulled the plugs today, none of them had any damage, just look old. Which is a good sign.

I pulled the blower off again today, to try for the third on fixing the Vac leak. Each time I pulled the blower off, I keep getting this wet crap around the PCV hole on the LIM and the underside of the Blower. Not sure why? Since I set up the PCV function correctly.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

Mine gets that to but way worse. I think mine is because of bad valve Seals

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

I could be wrong, but aren't you supposed to block the coolant ports when using a TB adapter?

Maybe I'll just let it pool up until I see you eventually. I'll just let all my problems keep stacking up until I can make it to Smuts garage. Nothing you can't fix. ;)

For some reason, I thought I read that somewhere as well.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

Pull of those yellow o rings, pull off that gasket. RTV it. No more leaks. Seriously. The gasket is causing you issues. RTV the **** out of it and call it a day.

But now I'm in a pickle.

My coolant ports are not blocked off, obviously, and I've thought I have read somewhere when doing a Gen V swap and using a TB adapter, you should block off the coolant ports. Not sure if it's necessary or not?

Before I re-install the blower, I'm curious as if I should do this or not.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

With TB adapter the coolant isn't going to get to the TB anyhow...mod the LIM and block the coolant ports there.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

You don't HAVE to block them, it's just better to. RTV ALL THE THINGS.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

yeah man, block those holes. stick some dimes in the holes with some gray rtv.

i sucked in a crap load of coolant bc i didnt seal them. could be your problem

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V Installed.

Resealed the blower. No vacuum leak.

Closed the coolant ports with dimes and a lot of copper RTV.

Replaced the spark plugs too. Car is still seeing KR at very little throttle. 2-3*+ at times. As soon as I go into 4th gear at a lower speed (50+ roughly) I see KR. But if I keep it in the first three gears, I see some, but not as much at all.

No idea why its doing this? Where is this KR coming from at such low throttle? Still getting nervous it's a chipped piston, but don't want too assume that right now.
