Re: 1997 Black GTP, With Some Go Fast Goodies.

The one thing I told Dan, the only thing I'm nervous about is doing the rear rockers/springs. Limited space and its on a slight angle towards the firewall, making things a bit more challenging than the front. But Dan said not too worry, it's relatively simple.

It should be...just remember to clean the bolt holes first... Save yourself a LOT of headache...

Re: 1997 Black GTP, With Some Go Fast Goodies.

Hopefully you get everything squared away and finally get a good tune and knock free. Yup sounds like you need to take the bumper to another painter or use a PPG paint. Ever think about having the SD lip molded on?

Re: 1997 Black GTP, With Some Go Fast Goodies.

Thank god I learned that mistake first hand. I'll be spraying a can of brake cleaner down each bolt hole. LOL

Yes I have, someone on a Grand Prix Facebook group is doing this right now, I want too see how it turns out. I really want to mold the license plate cover into the bumper as well. I think I'll for sure do that.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, With Some Go Fast Goodies.

Don't just use brake clean... I will tap mine when I do the new heads.

Im not only going to use brake cleaner and call it good, I'll run the stock bolts down there a few times until cleaned like we did for Anmars car, unless Dan has a better idea.

Use. A. Tap. Just like Andrew did.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, With Some Go Fast Goodies.

Hopefully we'll get everything sorted out and have it running like a top. Bring a little extra cash so that way we can replace any sensor we may find bad.

A new MAF sensor is like $75. Yikes. That's a bit steep for me at the moment. You have a Tap set to clean the bolt holes, like josh said?

1997 Black GTP, With Some Go Fast Goodies.

Don't think so.. I would double check with RA though just in case. Any 97-03 should work.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, With Some Go Fast Goodies.

Don't worry about clearance on that back head just take the dogbones loose throw it in neutral and lean her forward. There I thought heads were bad and it was a piece of cake

Re: 1997 Black GTP, With Some Go Fast Goodies.

There is plenty of room in there. It's a little tight but really not that bad.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, With Some Go Fast Goodies.

You'll need a 97-98 maf I think I have a tap

That's what I figured, I didn't they all were compatible. I'll run up to the junk yard sometime before I come to your house and grab a MAF sensor just incase.

I don't have a tap either, so if you don't have one, we'll have to figure out a way to clean out the bolt holes, I'm not trying to snap a rocker bolt like Anmars car. What a nightmare.
