Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now Slower, But Yet Faster.

I also put on a new tensioner pulley as well. Pretty nifty, eh.

Car still has AL104s in, but I'm going back to AL606s this evening now that I'm stock again :'(

All this talk of me not modding, and you are going backwards... :th_nanana:

At least you are doing it the safe route instead of keeping the 3.5 and just holding out til it either blows or you get the money to put in the cam and springs. Always better to be safe than sorry.

Would you prefer to give me the funds for the parts then, guy ?

I just like to think long term future here. I plan ahead.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now Slower, But Yet Faster.

Smart thinking. This is why I haven't pullied down yet. I have to figure where my knock is coming from before I go and throw more at it.

I had to roast a little low slung focus that thought he was hot **** and revved at me and I think I have an exhaust leak that is now bigger, which could be part of the problem. But I gotta get it in the air and check... again... with the laziness.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now Slower, But Yet Faster.

So do you have the 3.8" back on now? If so how dies the KR and boost levels look?

You must not of read my post then. I explained the KR numbers a few posts back. KR is virtually gone throughout a WOT pull until once again I hit 5k+ RPM's where the valves start to float then I get roughly 3-4* KR for a second.

I honestly think it's a smidge faster as its not continuously pulling timing.

Some numbers I got:

IPWs: 15ish
KR: 3-4* tops
AFR: 10.4ish
Boost: Peak at 6.1 Psi

^ This is still with AL104's.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now Slower, But Yet Faster.

Sorry I must have missed all that...

Told you it would prolly be faster on the 3.8".

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now Slower, But Yet Faster.

Thought I'd update just to resurrect this thread.

Nothing visual has changed or performance wise. Still slow and ugly.

The alternator took a dump last week. Brought it to Autozone to have it tested, and they kept telling me it was battery cause my battery was low. No sh1t its low, it's not getting recharged by the alternator. But nope, damn employees wouldn't believe me its the Alternator. Ended up getting a new Duralast Gold battery for free since my old one was still under warranty.

Aaaaaaaannndddd.... the new battery didn't fix the problem, like I told them. So I still ended up buying a new alternator and installing that. BAM! Electrical system is good as new.

I also decided to give my car a coolant flush since it has 156k miles and I have no record of a previous flush so I did it anyways. Yes, I stuck with Dex-cool and didn't switch to Green coolant. Why? Because there is nothing wrong with Dex-cool if the maintenance is kept up on it. Yes, it is known for eating away at plastic gaskets but thats because plastic gaskets suck.

Here's some dumb pictures just to keep you all interested:

Some old Dex-cool:

I like making a mess:

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now Slower, But Yet Faster.

Duralast is the gheyness. Walmart Maxx is where its at!

Glad to see you still keepin the car up and runnin, even if you are making a mess of things. lol

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now Slower, But Yet Faster.

That's how us Grand Prix guys do it.

Duct tape, zipties, making a mess, and drinking beer.
