Re: 1997 Black GTP, Finally An Engine Update.

Should have just done the lim when you had the sc off and waiting for it to dry. It would have only taken about 20 more min.

Yeah I realized that, thought about it, but I didn't have the extra $50 for the LIM gaskets. Harper took a look at them and said they weren't that bad and we can wait awhile before they need to be done.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Finally An Engine Update.

if you want the sub the sound a bit louder, try pulling it closer to the trunk lid and away from the back seat.

and everything looks good btw:th_thumbsup-wink:

Thanks man, i tried to wire everything correctly and at the right length of wires and what not. It hits decent, but i feel as if it should be louder due to the fact i have an 1800w amp pushing 850rms at 2 ohms. Even though my amp is turned down and i have not played with the settings yet, hopefully that will make a change. Why will it sound louder closer to the trunk lid?

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Finally An Engine Update.

closer to the trunk lid there should be less cancellation

again nothing is ever set in stone with car audio, but this is the general consensus

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Finally An Engine Update.

I pulled it forward more and also looked at the amp setting, the Bass Boost was all the down, turned that up about 3/4th the way and now it hits real hard. I chose a song with a lot of bass and turned the boost all the way, Super loud but distorts the bass kinda so i thought it would be best to turn it down some.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Finally An Engine Update.

Dan dont worry, i have an SD hood as well, has some small cracks in it cant notice unless you look super close. luckily the cracks dont like to spread, well they havent yet atleast and its been over a year

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Finally An Engine Update.

Is that on the front where you push the latch down? if so, that is very common with these hoods since yours you have to shut kind of hard since its so close to the bumper. You need to raise your latch a tad so that you don't have to push so hard to make it shut.
