Re: 1997 Black GTP, FWI Advice, Real Quick.

My old parts car had a fwi and that brace was cut out and it was just shoved in there.

I am here to support you... I was just defending you on all points...:th_thumbsup-wink:

Re: 1997 Black GTP, FWI Advice, Real Quick.

Just cover the holes... just cut out some plastic or something and plug the hoodscoops. If you do it right you can keep your grilles and just make it appear you have functional ram air... if you have grille inserts on the hood at all that is.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, FWI Advice, Real Quick.

I still don't get how you have issues though Dan, I never had issues with my SD or Carbon Fiber F1.. lol

Re: 1997 Black GTP, FWI Advice, Real Quick.

Painted Dan's blower for him, got everything off and painted and reinstalled in 3 hours, not bad.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, FWI Advice, Real Quick.

Not if you're not a retard and drive through puddles -_-

Not sure how much care was taken when it was driven but from what I've seen they get dirty quick!
I helped a buddy part out a 97 GTP with a FWI a few months back and was hoping to get the 9" K&N out of there but it was terribly caked with dirt!

Re: 1997 Black GTP, FWI Advice, Real Quick.

Well good progress on the car today, spent multiple hours hooking up my whole system. 1800w 2-channel with 2 Raptor Farad feeding to a 12in Type R, then 1200w 4-channel SPL to all door speakers and tweeters. The system all put together sounds amazing.

Messy as F:

And as of now i didnt get any finished product pics because my phone died, ill get some in the morning and post them. Harper also gave me a black smooth valve cover. Im going to repaint. Soon im going back down to Harpers house, were painting my Throttle Body black, Fuel Rails red, and Install new black Valve Cover, then im going to make my FWI and under the hood will be looking fresh. He also said he will help me do my LIM gaskets soon too. what a good guy.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Finally An Engine Update.

Again farad, unit of measurement. So Raptor being the brand, 2 Farads being the capacity.

And I hope you like replacing alternators, a big 3 would be cheaper and better than a capacitor.
Just giving you the heads up.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Finally An Engine Update.

if you want the sub the sound a bit louder, try pulling it closer to the trunk lid and away from the back seat.

and everything looks good btw:th_thumbsup-wink:
