I'm doing a swap of a L67 into my 1985 S15 Jimmy. Build is over on,http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f30/1985-jimmy-gtp-522433/

Looking for some help with the harness. Anybody doing this kind of work? :th_scratchhead:

Called Intense Racing about making the harness but have not had a Email about what thay want from the doner? :th_scratchhead:
I'm at the point of needing the electric bits. Hope they call.

Thanks for any input.

Randy

Usually I try to do as little hacking to the vehicle and engine harnesses as possible by building a patch cable. take the interior side of the engine harness and the engine harness side of the S15. Mate up the circuits as they need and then go from there.

Thanks BiiB.

Well, where is the best place to start? I know that sounds funny, but so far I have pulled the PCM,motor harness and the Fuze/relay box. Harness has been pulled down to just wires( removed the cover). So it is more about the what to do about the fuze/relay box?

The motor will be a stand alone system with the exception will be the A/C . And maybe the cruise control ?

you're not going to want to do standalone for the motor. you'll never make the power you should out of it doing it that way.

use the GTP PCM and go from there.

BIO.
I meant, the stock PCM will only be incharge of the motor, will use the Jimmy harness for all other things.
My BAD. Going to have the PCM flashed . Wont be getting info from the trans. Its a 700R4, its what came in the Jimmy.

Search the members ride section here I believe darkhorizon is the one that has a 3800 in a blazer.

Camaros used that trans with the 3800 so using a gtp pcm maybe a poor choice. I'd use the blazer and find a 3800 camaro pcm for the rest. Maybe there is an easier way I'm not sure but I'd try control engine and trans from a vehicle that was paired up as your using from factory like the camaro was.

You do realize the 700r4 and the 4L60 are very very similar and that the 700r4 was the predecessor of the 4L60......
Just figured I'd clear that up and I'm sure dark knows way more about this

Five ,that is what the tuner said also turn on the manual trans system. Don't know much about that?

Need to remount the new A/C compressor. All mounted. Belt is 100" long.
Also had to use the compressor to adjust the belt.

Looks like a 97 H body engine. Based on the evap purge soleniod and switch, blower casing not being painted (says it's not a 96), then the coil pack bracket.

On the wiring/pcm. That shouldn't be too tough although you kinda want a local guy if possible to tweak as needed. Please toss up a picture of your pcm and let us know what the pcm and harness came from.

Coolant in the alt bracket, what's your plans? I see the elbow is still intact on the lower intake, therefore either you are addressing it or need to. This is one where Bio248 may be the better way to go. Tap the hole in the manifold and use a nipple like GM did on the 4.3/5.7/5.0 intakes for the heater hose. Then figure out what you are doing on the other end going into the water pump. Which could be as simple as pulling the plug at the end of the alt bracket and moving it to the part that had coolant coming out. Poof..you'd have a threaded fitting in a decent location by the top of the pump.

Yep,1997 Buick,Ultra.
Will tap the water ports for fittings.
I will get a shot of the the PCM, its a big Alum. box.

Here is a photo of the 700R4 TV cable mount. Pain to get the angles right.

he still doesnt need any controls for the transmission regardless. While the 4L60e and 700R share most of their internal parts a 700 can be run very simply with no computer controls. A vacuum switch and delay box for the lock up control and his TV connections are all it needs to function. A GTP PCM will work just fine and a 3800 Camaro PCM would just require more work.

Had to fix the wife's Jetta. Bad Alt. It took 2 1/2 hours to get to it!
Worked on the hot water lines to the heater.

Still don't like the the way it is but will keep working on it.
