04 Comp G

I want a 04 Comp G.

I've been looking all over for one, and haven't found a cheap enough one yet.

My question is, how are the transmissions on these cars? Are they any different then the previous generation?

I found a decent deal on one, with 204,000 miles.

I can care less about the motor, it's the transmission that worries me with that many miles on it.

Other then that, the car looks REAL clean, and is stock.

no i had one they are not any different than the previous gens trans. how much were they asking for that one?

Re: 04 Comp G GTP

someone posted about a comp G with over 200k last night... im thinking the majority of the miles on the one u found and the one the other guy found are prob mostly highway miles for being "newer" car and having that high of miles.

Re: 04 Comp G GTP

Yeah, I talked to the guy, he just got the car a month ago, he buys/sells he said.

The car was originally registered in 04, and then sold with 6,3000 miles in 06, then the car was driven until the 203k, and now is in the hands of the current owner.

He said the guy who drove it was a sales rep, and did all highway driving.

He's got the title and it's clean.

The only thing the car needs is motor mounts from what he told me on the phone, which at 204k, I don't doubt it.

I'm going to check the car out Saturday, it's about 2 1/2 hours from me.

Here's a pic:

Re: 04 Comp G GTP

are the calipers on that red? if not it could be a pretty rare car... between that and the badges on the door... it looks like it coulda been one of the first few comp g's made

Nice, it's got the good wheels. I wish my compG had those wheels. Mine has the "uplevel" wheels that are chrome. They're starting to peel

Yea, i have those stupid twisted torque wheels on mine. Which are also peeling. I think im going to buy some rims from sears, some 18's, something sporty. I seen some that matched the color of the car ( dark grey) those were pretty cool, lightweight, 89$ pr rim. Keep those factory joints for the winter.

car looks good with that tint, do you know %?

but like i said in the other recent thread, 200k is to close to the grave for me, but you know your sh!t man, just check out everything you can

200k is nothing on these engines. As long as you have a quick hookup on a trans (if it dies) then you should be good.
