Hello trannyman quick question I have a 2005 grand prix and im going from 3.05 gears to 2.93 ...besides the speedometer is there anything else that can get affected if its not tune for the new gears ? Can I use the car without the tune and tune it later ?

Hey...hope u can help.I have an 07 GP, 168k miles, daily driver, no mods. Had some rough shifting a few months ago, several trips to transmission shop later my trans is rebuilt by reputable shop. The car does fine but couple days later its throwing a code (p0741) & feels like its pulling out in too high of a gear. Took it back to same shop, changes a solenoid, still the same thing. He takes It apart & tells me first gear is out. Redoes that & its still doing the same thing. He has now had the car over 2 wks & has ordered a wiring harness but it hasn't came in yet & he's unsure if it fix it but has another rebuilt transmission he wants to put in the car if this doesn't work. Any ideas???

I don't have much experience with these tranny's but it looks like you are the expert! I have a 2003 gtp and just the other day while I was driving I slowed down to go over some train tracks and when I tried to speed up mycar wwouldn't shift out of first gear.

The car starts up and runs fine, goes into reverse and has no problems in first gear, it just will not shift out of it.

I got a friend to hook up his computer, but it didn't show a code, I'm not sire if his computer is set up to read tranny codes.

I am just wondering from your experience if you know what the problem may be or if you could point me in the right direction.

Hello Trannyman, I have a question for you, I have a 99 and I am putting an 03 trans into it, i have the PCM is that all i need, I noticed the range switch has extra plug on my 99 and the trans plug is diff as well, can you shed light on this for me??

Hey how r u sir I'm I such a bad position I have a 2000 Buick regal GS and i lost overdrive it moved for a while but now she just moves in reverse I'm a little tight for money but anyways I trying to find the best way about getting her fixed I do like the car a lot but this has just killed my spirit. Hey, I have a 97 gtp and when I'm in overdrive around 50 and lightly press on the gas pedal I feel a hesitation and was wondering if that was from the transmission? Also the last few days it's been feeling like its slips sometimes when it's cold. And sometimes if I'm crusin' at slower speeds sometimes it feels like the trans is jumping around and you can see the tach jump around.. And I had the trans rebuilt about a year ago, any information would be appriciated. Thanks

HI, Do you still have a link that shows how to replace the driver's side output shaft seal ? this is the second time it has started leaking on my son's car, any input on that also. The first time it started leaking we just tapped it in a little and it did not leak for a couple of months. His car is a 2002 GTP, thanks a millon for any help you can offer, Ed

hey is there a reason my diff cover on the pas side cracked??
it started slipping then it didn't move.... then i did a fluid change then it ran great till one day i jumped on it and it blew fluid every wear and it was the diff cover. the fluid was not that old and it was black.. if i put a new cover on it and filled it up would it drive??

I Drive a 02 gtp and am looking to install a 98gs transmission into the car cause mine is bad, to my understanding the cooling line fittings are different. what is the best way to handle that issue and are there any other issues i have to worry about? thank you for any help u can give

Have a 1998 4t65e just rebuild new steel; seals; cluthes; replaced 4th hub and sun gear on start-up have long shift time from 1st to 2nd 3rd 4th fine drove around for while now have whine any ideas i did replace all soleniods tranny had over 200 thousands on it at time of rebuild where do I go from here??? I am leaning to 2nd clutch maybe any ideas thanks Rob

i have a 01 ikpala 3.8 4t65e. the problem i had for several years is the torque converter kicks in and out under slight power. had it to a tranny shop 5 times over several years. after 2 torque converters and several valve bodies i stil have the same issue. what can cause this? it seems to work fine for a while after the repair but the issue always returns. any ideas??

trans worked great yesterday after selenoid was replaced. today it is acting up doing something different. the converter pulses in and out of lock up under accel. what do you think? will having the taps reset do anything??

thanks already put a new selenoid,put about 100 miles on and seems to work now. keeping my fingers crossed. what goes wrong with the tcc selenoid?

what are your thoughts on using a Helicoil to repair stripped threads on a 00 4t65e-hd feed line?

also a shift kit that chirps second harmful to the 4t65ehd trans?
