• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

hopefully u can help me. Recently we took our 1995 grand prix se with 131k to see why R car is struggling to go up hills and accelerate past 45 mph. the mechanic said we had a bad water pump, so we got that fixed, and once we got it back and took it home, it still wasn't accelerating, like it had been. first it started when we drive up the road over hills. we live in a hilly city. the car starts to shake and wont stop unless u take ur foot off the accelerator. is their any way that u can diagnose this as a bad tranny or is my info kinda unusual. also people told me that it might be a sensor or a module, i have no clue???? so any advice from some1 that knows their stuff would be greatly appreciated. thank

srry to bother ya but Im having a serious issue with my 99 gt. Im trying to figure the best route on getting my trans either rebuilt or something. It all started when my 4th gear(overdrive) went out. Then my 3rd slipped a little then went out. I've been driving it with 2 gears for 2 years now and its still strong(thank god)!! But I would like to go HD with it but its way to expensive and they said that my PCM could not do it cause of the shift points. So Im going to try and go stock with it but Im afraid it'll go out again. I've recently heard of a HD kit that I can swap out certain pieces. Out of ur opinion what would be my best bet? My car is lightly modded as far as u-bend delete, autolite 104's, HV3 Intake and maybe 1.80 rockers? Please let me know the best deal I should aim for and thank you!!!
i am looking at a 2001 grand prix special edition, is there any upfront problems i should be aware of because the original owner said his transmission went and he replaced with a transmission out of a wreck. Is this a common problem? Thanks

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. I hit a really big pot hole the other day and I checked it and didn't see anything wrong. The next day I was driving to a car show and my little cousin wanted me to do a burnout. When I did, my car starting smoking really bad. So I pulled over and looked under my car and tranny fluid was leaking. I thought it was the CV Half Shaft but it wasn't. I took it apart yesterday and its is the piece that the shaft goes into on the transmission. I will put a picture on my page and the part circled in red is the part im talking about.
The Transgo shift kits are not designed to be used as a high performance kit and will NOT give you the firmer shifts you would expect. I use it as a base in my performance rebuilds but do other work in conjunction with the kit that can only be done if the trans is apart. The Intense shift kit is one of the better ones you can go with as it is very complete and includes new firmer springs like the Transgo kit, but also allows you to select shift firmness levels. There are cheaper routes to go but dont give the same end result.
hey trannyman, looking to buy a shift kit for my car.
currently have an 03 regal gs w/ 3.4" pulley, 180' stat, 104plugs, intense pcm, 3" dp and flowmaster muffler, poly engine mounts and cai.
the car is lowered approx 1.7" and has 18" wheels on it.
i want a good stiff shift, maybe even some 1-2 scratches. but i do not want to break hard parts. i also make it to the track 3-4 times a year. what shift kit would be my best bet in your opinion.? so far ppl talking have me leaning towards the transgo, but i wanted an experts opinion. ;) lmk man, thanks in advance!!!
