• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Hi there, hoping you can give me some insight.I'm new to this forum but I've been a long time member of Club GP and OQCGP in Canada. To make a long story short,I found out today that I broke my roll pin, found it while changing the fluid/filter.I do all my own work but I've never had any experience with the diff. or axle shafts.I'm comfortable up to where I take the diff. cover off.Once the cover is off, what's involved with removing the differential?I'm coming in from the driver's side right?Sorry if these are dumb questions,I just like knowing what's ahead of me bfore I get too deep in a job.Let me know if you can help me out in anyway. In the meantime I'm going to do some searching.

    Thanks

    Blair

Hey tranny man .....you answered a question for me yesterday about how much power a stock tranny can handle......what would you advise as an upgrade i could do to try to keep my tranny goin till i get money together to get a built one from you
Hey i have a quick non important question. Now me and my auto teacher are stump about the 65 part on the 4t65 code. We know its for torq but why 65 and also same on the 4t-60 and 4t-80. Is it like 65 moving parts or what. Thanks.
Trannyman.. I have a question for you.. Just changed out my cv axles today.. when i pulled the axles out of the tranny it leaked transmission fluid while the axles were out. I'm told that's common.. my problem is that when i put in the pass. side axle, i took the car out for a test drive. now i'm losing tranny fluid on the right side. I have looked at the axle, don't see any fluid on the axle, or coming out of the tranny where the axle slides in. any ideas where It could be coming from? i'm planning on pulling the axle out tomorrow and seeing if I can see anything wrong.. any help would be GREAT!!
Hello Trannyman, looking for some advice on Hard Shifting, and repair costs. I have included the orginal post:

I wanted to get some advice on my issue.
Mine is a 1999 Coupe GT, 3.8L. My two main issues are the wine that appears to be from the power steering and the hard shift when it gets warm. I have researched and found that the hard shift may be the EPC solenoid. I read today that the wine may not be power steering but the high pressure from the transmission pump. My power steering reservoir is full, with no leaks. Reading from 4T65E Transmission Info kind of recommends rebuild of the transmission. That is just a scary thought to me. I don’t have any slippage in the transmission; I have maintained a schedule of maintenance with the fluid and filter. It is not dirty and does not smell burnt. I am near another service and want to get the solenoid replaced. I am wondering if anyone has had it done and what the cost.
